I made a reservation for this past Saturday for a a party of 3. My brother and I were taking my mother out for her birthday. When we arrived the young lady upfront greeted is right away and quickly looked up our reservation, she then pointed us in the direction of a tall gentleman who brought us just a few feet from the front entrance to a cocktail table right next to the bar, I politely asked him if we could sit at a booth or upstairs, if I was there on a date night or out with girlfiends this accommodation would have been fine, however it was 7:30pm so we were there for dinner and to celebrate a birthday so I preferred to sit at a table. The gentleman said the booths were already reserved and he had to see if anything else was available upstairs. I say all this to say: he seemed a little annoyed I made the request, however I shrugged it off and gave the benefit of doubt as maybe I read him the wrong way. Anyhow we were able to sit upstairs. My brother and I ordered appetizers which were very good and nice and hot when they got to the table. For our main meal we ordered the red snapper which came with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. The snapper had absolutely no taste and the Brussel sprouts were very hard. Mashed potatoes, just okay. My mother however enjoyed her food, she had the whiting, candied yams and cabbage. The atmosphere is nice, and always good music playing, however the night was ruined when it was time for us to pay the bill, the bill was 200+ which half was paid in cash and the remainder on my debit card. When the payment was given to our waitress, she came back 15 minutes later stating there was an issue with the card reader, and to please give them a few minutes. We all said: sure no problem, 15 minutes turned to 30, then 30 to 45, and 45 to an hour, then an hour to an hour+++ our waitress came up a few times to apologize for the wait and on the last time she came over and said it was beyond anything she could do, and that the Manager was on the phone trying to resolve the WiFi issue. Our table was empty all but the table cloth... that's how long we had been ready to go. At this point, no manager made contact with us, and we stopped seeing our waitress. At this point I was fed-up, I went downstairs and saw the young lady who had initially greeted us, and I explained the situation to her, she said she would get a manager, so about 5-10 minutes later the tall gentleman came over and very nonchalantly said:"were having a problem with the wifi, I'm on the phone right now" Not once was an apology given for all the time we waited or an offer of water while we wait, NOTHING!! After about annother 5-10 minutes, the man didn't return, so I told the young lady at the front that I needed my debit card back, because we had waited long enough and were ready to leave. A few minutes later, a women came up asking what the problem was, I told her we had been waiting over an hour & a half to pay the remainder of the bill, and she stated the wifi was down. Still no sorry for the inconvenience. I know and understand things happen beyond our control, however the way we choose to handle situations is very much within our control, and as management, you handled the situation extremely POORLY! The waitress was the only one who kept apologizing which seemed sincere, no reason to carry on or pretend to care because they get gratuity regardless. My family and I were standing at the front being spoke to like we inconvenienced them. All the while being held hostage because they had my debit card. I told the lady manager, I wanted my card back because I needed to leave, I asked her what she wanted me to do and if the other people paying by card were going to be held hostage, her response was:"mamn another party paying with debit card like you sent someone from their group to the ATM,so in good faith you can do the same, unless your saying you don't want to pay your bill". WHAT!!! How about in good FAITH my family and I waited while your restaurant tried to resolve YOUR wifi issues.VERY...
Read moreThis is a bit lengthy.. my experience here is why I probably won’t return but the food was good. So, when I entered (party of four with a baby) I asked for a booth; we were celebrating my sisters birthday and wanted it to be more intimate. I’m not sure if i was speaking with the owner but all the more she seemed annoyed she informed me they had a band playing and that could hurt the baby. Also, the hostess let me know about a cake $25 cutting fee (this is important for this story) since it seemed as though they were recommending us not to stay or figure something out for the baby we took some time to discuss. Will my father with dementia decided to talk to the woman who might have been the owner because she looked familiar and she was once again was very short with her attitude and dismissive. (Seriously not cool I let her know before seating he had dementia and hopefully she will consider that when speaking with elderly people going forward). Even with that we decided to eat there and found out there was a top floor, once again she was annoyed and decided to explain it to me as though I was a child and said the booths are the first floor and there’s a top floor as well. So, we finally make it up stairs after being told to leave the baby carriage downstairs I had to roll it to the closet myself no biggy I could not find the closet so I left it at the front. Once seated we were able to order (let me say this my waitress was amazing it seems as though it was her first day and she was a bit flustered but just want to preface) so, we order one app and our soft drinks a side note: we ordered San Pellegrino with the drinks and we wait… after some time we order another app and our dinners because we had to explore the menu and got to relax after the fluster of being seated. finally we get our drinks but the San Pellegrino is not opened we wait about five more minutes and finally get our the second app ordered still no first app and no bottle opener. So we wait for the first app and for the drink to be opened and the food comes out still no bottle opener and still missing the first app. We eat and finally ask again for the drink to be opened and for our app and about 5 mins or so the drink comes and 10 mins the app comes. We finish eating and ask for the cake to be cut well those candles were not lit and the birthday girl didn’t get a spoon with her slice (but we got the $25 charge you know it lol) we wrap up with the check and wait for the cake and we’re told about a 90 minute wait maximum (the seats weren’t full and we wanted to go) and were like oh that’s fine we are just waiting for the cake. Lol so listen. The main attraction is the live band, wonderful entertainment, the food is good, the service is alright, and the attitudes are atrocious. Customer service seems to be on the back burner for this business. I hope they can work it out because it could be a regular if those major kinks were worked out. ...
Read moreWhat Happened to Delta's? OH Under new management... Terrible... This was my go to place for soul food and the atmosphere. I was just at Deltas last year and came here tonight (Saturday) with my family and it has changed drastically. Had reservations and arrived early and sat at the bar and ordered a drink. They automatically add a tip to your bill regardless If you only had ONE drink. Ok sat us down on time and reminded us that we only have 90 minutes. We thought 90 minutes started after the food came out, which took over 20 minutes. NO! 90 minutes start as soon as you sit down. Also, the light skinned waitress with the leopard glasses on kept reminding us how many minutes we had left. (Very uncomfortable) . Now lets talk about the food. The menu has changed and you only get what comes with the meal and NO SUBSTITUTIONS. And the sides are ALA CARTE. $10 bucks each. I wanted Catfish, but who the h... is going to pay 30 dollars for fish, fries and coleslaw???? So I order the chicken wings off of the appetizer menu and 2 sides, Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. The chicken wings were dry and had no seasoning. The collard greens wasn't bad however, the leaves are huge, not cooked in smoked meat and doesn't need the red pepper strip in it. OMG the Mac & Cheese???? Disgusting, tastes horrible and It is not baked. Its Macaroni cooked on top of the stove with some white cheese (not cheddar or sharp) then cheddar cheese thrown on the top then put under a broiler. My family was so disappointed with their food and with the prices, OMG we should have went to a Steak House. OK here comes the bill...... Tip Added and there was a $40 entertainment fee. For what?? There was a lady singing and 2 men with her. So were paying for YOUR ENTERTAINMENT that you choose to have? This place for a Saturday night was lacking customers, empty tables, no one standing around waiting to sit down and eat. I think its hanging on a strand of hair. DELTA'S if you dont bring back the food, DJ, and atmosphere that you used to have, you will lose more customers than you already have lost. MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER COME HERE...
