The Glass Woods Tavern is an attached restaurant to the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick, I was offered complimentary breakfast as a result of my Globalist status at the Hyatt. Being a restaurant attached to a hotel, I would normally not expect much but Hyatt Regency's have been known to deliver high quality food from their attached restaurants. So I approached with an open mind and an empty stomach. The result was pleasantly appetizing. The breakfast menu is limited but in a good way, the food delivered is high quality and flavorful. Their breakfast chef, Rawa, really knows how to deliver a tasty breakfast. They have a spectacular Short Rib Eggs Benedict, juicy shredded short rib meat and peppers sits on a moist corn muffin slice covered with a soft poached egg, topped with a rich hollandaise sauce. Their pancakes were fluffy and when I ordered the banana pancakes, there were banana flavors in the pancake, and rather than the lazy put a few slices of banana on top, the bananas were properly reduced in a sauce, providing a sweet topping to the pancakes. Lastly, the scrambled eggs were flavorful, sausages were juicy and bacon was crisp providing a standard all around breakfast. Equally worth mentioning was the service provided. Cal was our server for multiple days and provided immense service despite being the only server on the Christmas weekend. He constantly stopped by briefly just to ensure that we were properly cared for, drinks full and anything else we might have needed. In addition, at one point, Katherine, I believe his manager, was also there to ensure our food quality was up to snuff. We really felt cared for at this location with all the attention provided to us. They weren't interested in just providing some food, they also insisted on us feeling like we were eating a meal at home. There was light Christmas music playing in the background and the overall restaurant was designed with a very beautiful ceramic tree in the middle. The lights were not overbearingly bright, but lit enough for us to not need to struggle with reading the menu. It's worth mentioning they do typically have a breakfast buffet but due to the slower week of Christmas leading into the New Year, they opted for a less wasteful a la carte option only. That is perfectly fine in my book as all restaurants are currently struggling with inflation and I can understand unnecessary waste. Based on the service and quality of food on a slower time frame, I can only imagine what it will be like when they are running full staffed, I look forward to experiencing the buffet the next time I am here. Thank you for a great experience, Cal, Katherine, and Rawa, I will see you next time I'm in the area. ...
Read moreIt seemed like the restaurant was closed but my friends and I was able to order some drinks at the bar, then we moved to a table for dinner. Our server Dominic was very attentive and helpful. Chicken tasted a little too dry, but all the other food we ordered was amazing; especially brisket! It was so tender and tasty. Two of the desserts we ordered with a cup of cappuccino were phenomenal. We were so full after finishing the bbq combo plate, but sure did finish both of the desserts 😋 I'm glad this place is open for the public. Will definitely...
Read moreMy fiancée and I wanted to try someplace new to us. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was superb and the bartender knocked our socks off. It was not cheap, but the food was worth it. Only downside, is it's in the Hyatt and they don't validate for parking and you don't find that out until after you're in the Tavern. I understand they do validate for J&J employees and other frequent flyers of this property. You can't just be a Hilton Honors member. That was disappointing and imho cost...
