The Original Rainbow Cone — Restaurant in New Buffalo

Ice cream was ok. Butter pecan did not have much flavor and had a lot of crunchy flavorless ice crystals in it. Salted Carmel mackinac fudge (or something like that) was good. Chocolate was ok but also ice in it. Pistachio was good. The ice cream melted very quickly. Im over 200lbs and by no means a slow eater and could not get to it fast enough to stop dripping. The plastic cone holder with a little drip moat was at first an excellent way of catching drips. It inevitably fills up and gets messy and poured out multiple times but that's as much on me and my kids not being careful as anything. By the third time I spilled on my shirt or shoes forgetting that I cant tip my cone to lick I had no one to blame but myself. Service staff was very nice and quick. The line and waiting area was just on the sidewalk which was right on a very busy road, route 12, as in like 8 feet from the door is the road. Came here while in the area, as I wanted to go here before we started heading home. We were going to go to the beach but despite it being a Thursday, they were crazy busy. This was a good plan B 👍🏻

I got the namesake Rainbow Cone, original size. I personally couldn't see that big of a size difference between the Junior and the Original, but maybe I just have bad eyes 😂 I was slightly worried that this specific flavor would be gimmicky or the flavors wouldn't work together. But to my surprise, the flavors did work together! And they put the cone in a nifty little holder that prevents drippage onto your clothing. I've never seen a place do that! Absolutely terrible service. They got my order wrong, all I got was a double scoop cone with mint chocolate chip ice cream in the bottom, with Superman flavor on the TOP, my super man was on the bottom and the chocolate chip wasn’t mint, it was cookie dough, and it wasn’t event in a cone, it was in a cup. I asked for my order to be fixed, then the young employee sighed and rolled his eyes, then put the ice cream back in the freezer, he then threw the cup at my feet and then made my order right, nope instead of Superman flavor, he did one scoop of mint chocolate chip and told me to leave.
