Grill't — Restaurant in New Castle

First time through New Castle and looking for a place for a late lunch. I'm always on the hunt for good BBQ. Most of the time I am disappointed. This is one of those rare occasions I was not. This is a quaint little restaurant that has a writing on the wall from those who has visited it. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted and welcomed. The menu was explained as soo as she learned it was our first time there. I had the half ribs, green bean side and sloppy or "loaded" fries. It was explained there would be a wait on the ribs due to another large order going out. While we were waiting a sample of spicy fries were brought out for us to try and enjoy (they were very good). The Ribs Let me say, these ribs were thick. I mean thick like BBL thick! They had plenty of meat on them. The sweet BBQ was like syrup and they weren't so tender it flopped off the bone and not so tough that you had to beat it off the bone. One critique is the smoke flavor was light and the sauce covered it up. I like heavy smoke so, my preference. They definitely weren't the small weak wimpy ribs I have had in other chain BBQ restaurants. These ribs are near the top in my book. The sides were on point as well. The Staff The hostess was polite, professional and gracious. Even if the food was bad her attitude and politeness would still have made everything ok. The pit master came out and checked on the quality of our meats himself. Advised if we weren't satisfied he would cook it to our liking. Overall This appears to be a family owned restaurant with the family working hard to make it successful. This shines through with the way they treat everyone who walks through their doors. The hospitality would make this and enjoyable experience even if you didn't particularly care for the food. Even though this is over an hour from where we live, we will return again very soon! OK so GRILL’T isnt Something you should be sleeping on. The amazing quality meats and authentic Texas/Kansas City style barbecue is just the beginning of the amazing experience these fine folks provide when you stop on by.Their sweet barbecue sauce/glaze Has a very unique but still authentic tasting flavor profile has a lot of smoke flavor incorporated in it. It’s just perfect. Has me coming back every time for more of the sweet sauce.

Every time I order something, it’s always fresh hot off the pit and made to order. The sides are fantastic has their own homemade touch to them, every single one. Everything from their rib tips to the sliced brisket is top notch. I don’t know how this place isn’t known nationally. The folks know what they’re doing and The Guy preparing the food is a pit-master.

Every time I go in there, Im met with wonderful enthusiasm And cheer and it’s a great atmosphere ask me if ive got everything I need or if I need more of this or that and to be honest, they even ask me how I’m doing that particular day and how things are going they genuinely care about the people they Serve. Now that’s hard to find nowadays.

Favorite barbecue spot in Indiana by far and I’m a truck driver that travels the entire Midwest/East Coast just being real. I had one little mixup on a ordernothing crazy(The food was still Good) reached out to them about it they offered me to come back whenever I want and anytime i want to get a full Fresh order remade for me and they were still so nice and seemed genuinely happy to have me. They really understand that quality food let alone good meat is not always cheap. So they make sure when you place the order you get everything you pay for and a great experience doing so. This was my first time here and I actually stumbled upon it by accident when I was searching for a barbecue restaurant in this area. But as the old saying goes everything happens for a reason. And there was definitely a reason why the good Lord brought me here tonight! And before I talk about the food I have to say the best part of this experience was the amazing customer service. The food can be good anywhere but it's the people that really puts the bow on it.

I told the staff that I was going to go home and fire my mother because the food was so good but not only am I going to fire her I might sue her for never making food that's good for me.

The food was absolutely amazing. I did the three meats, brisket, pulled pork, and rib tips and everything was maid to perfection! In fact it was so good that this was one of those occasions where I ordered even more food to go. All of the meets were perfectly cooked and super tender. I also had the mac and cheese which was to die for as well as the green beans and baked .

If you don't live near this restaurant, I'm telling you right now however far you have to drive is going to be well worth it! This is another one of those times where I have to say run don't walk to this place and thank me later. The only negative I can give you right now is that they don't have more locations. 10 Stars!

Finally, I don't normally review non-alcoholic drinks but the unsweet tea was also super good. And don't any of you come for me for not drinking...
