Hazel's Restaurant — Restaurant in New Castle

There is something familiar about Hazel's restaurant. The minute you walk in the door, it's like a dear friend is welcoming you back home again. One of the last original down-town restaurants in New Castle, with efficient, friendly service, this was one of my mother's favorite places to go to dine out. The menu is somewhat limited, but they have several excellent breakfast choices@a budget-friendly price, and I am never disappointed with the tuna salad croissant or just a comforting bowl of soup with a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch or dinner. Excellent lemon meringue and strawberry pies for dessert!! A nice place to get-together with friends and family to relax in a laid-back atmosphere. I've been going to this place for almost 10 years and today would be the last day I ever go into this place. The hot sausage is legit cut up sweet sausage links, the meatloaf is a brick of hamburger with no seasoning and the stuffed pork chops is gray and the stuffing is mushy. When told about they're gray meat they charged all the sides which is fine I ate the fries and salad but it was the 2.49 piece of store made 'italian' bread that got to me. 2.49 for a slice of bread is the most ridiculous thing I've heard of. Yall lost 3 plus customers for life. Also to top it off the witnesses have no personality and were just bad at their jobs. When a cup is empty the two times you visit you shouldnt have to keep asking...

We stopped in at Hazel’s at 2:30 for lunch. They close at three. Were told before we ever sat down that the kitchen closed at 2:45. Not in a nice way. Our waitress was rude. She was back in a split wanting to take our order. We hadn’t gotten to the first page when she was back not once twice in five minutes. Wegot our food and the food was good . But could not finish it because the waitress brought out a scrub bucket with bleach water in it and that’s all I smell.
