Every single latte I’ve had here is absolute perfection—rich, smooth, and unbeatable, no matter the day or season. The owners, who seem to be there every time I walk in, pour their hearts into this place. Their hard work shines through in the spotless cleanliness and the meticulous care they put into every detail—it’s flawless, every visit. The baked goods? Pure heaven. Consistently delicious, fresh, and impossible to resist. Pair that with their meals—always hearty, perfectly portioned, and so satisfying you’ll want to try everything on the menu. The service is just as impeccable; the staff’s hospitality makes you feel like family every single time. And don’t get me started on their rewards system—it’s a point-based gem that keeps on giving, making every purchase feel like a win. The vibe here captures the essence of New Castle in the most authentic way. The location is stunning, adorned with local art that adds so much character, and the multiple scenic patios shift beautifully with the seasons—whether it’s sunny or snowy, it’s a treat to sit outside. The Mercury Cafe and Teahouse is a very cool and eclectic place that checks off a lot of interesting categories. The entire menu is either vegetarian or vegan and I thought it was very good even though I am neither. The coffee is excellent (I had a hazelnut latte)! What sets this place apart though is the tea. Tea is a labor of love for Aaron and he has created many of the blends himself. I am hardly a tea expert so he talked me through the different varietals. I settled on an Oolong tea which he prepared in the traditional Chinese way using clay pots, a precise temperature of water, and multiple steepings. I ended up getting 4 cups over a 30 minute period and each was slightly different due to the repeated steepings. It was very interesting. This place far exceeded your typical British Tea Room (which it is not). Whether you love tea, coffee, cocktails (which they also do), good food, out just a quaint place in a historic setting the Mercury Cafe and Tearoom should be a must stop on your list! We...
