Nestled in the heart of Old New Castle is a gastronomic time machine. Prepare your taste buds for an unforgettable adventure as I take you on a delightful journey through my recent visit to this extraordinary establishment.

From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a bygone era where elegance and sophistication reign supreme. The interior design is a true work of art, blending seamlessly with the restaurant's historical significance.

Now, let's talk coffee. The coffee here is more than just a beverage; it's a divine elixir crafted by celestial beings. It's a cup of liquid sunshine that jumpstarts your day or concludes your meal with a resounding, "Bravo!"

But let's not forget the unsung heroes of this enchanting establishment: the staff. The service is a dance of grace and efficiency, choreographed to perfection. The owners possesses an uncanny ability to anticipate your every need, their smiles radiating warmth and genuine hospitality.

Ah, the food! The pièce de résistance, the star of this culinary spectacle. Each dish we tried was a symphony of flavors, a celebration of artistry on a plate. With every bite, you embark on a voyage through taste, texture, and pure gustatory bliss.

So enamored was I by this extraordinary dining experience that I couldn't help but make a pact with myself. I vowed to return, not alone, but with the people I hold dear to my heart. For this place is not just a restaurant; it's a portal to shared moments of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. It's a place where you want to clink glasses with your loved ones, celebrate life, and revel in the pleasure of their company.

In conclusion, dear gastronomes and lovers of all things delicious, this restaurant is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Its historical charm, expert decoration, and reasonably priced culinary wonders make it a true treasure trove for the senses. So gather your favorite humans, embark on this culinary journey, and prepare to create memories that will warm your heart for years to come....

I’ve been a loyal patron of this coffee shop for over five years now, and it’s hands-down the best I’ve ever encountered. Every single latte I’ve had here is absolute perfection—rich, smooth, and unbeatable, no matter the day or season. The owners, who seem to be there every time I walk in, pour their hearts into this place. Their hard work shines through in the spotless cleanliness and the meticulous care they put into every detail—it’s flawless, every visit. The baked goods? Pure heaven. Consistently delicious, fresh, and impossible to resist. Pair that with their meals—always hearty, perfectly portioned, and so satisfying you’ll want to try everything on the menu. The service is just as impeccable; the staff’s hospitality makes you feel like family every single time. And don’t get me started on their rewards system—it’s a point-based gem that keeps on giving, making every purchase feel like a win. The vibe here captures the essence of New Castle in the most authentic way. The location is stunning, adorned with local art that adds so much character, and the multiple scenic patios shift beautifully with the seasons—whether it’s sunny or snowy, it’s a treat to sit outside. It’s no surprise this spot is a local favorite; the coffee and drinks are phenomenal, and the whole experience just pulls you in. For over five years, I’ve been coming here at least monthly, and it’s been this incredible every single time. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor—go. You’ll be hooked, just like me. Five stars doesn’t even...

It's still amazing! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

We stopped in while looking around Old New Castle on a Saturday morning. We were promptly able to get a seat and were helped by the owners Aaron and Dwayne. The Mercury Cafe and Teahouse is a very cool and eclectic place that checks off a lot of interesting categories. The entire menu is either vegetarian or vegan and I thought it was very good even though I am neither. The coffee is excellent (I had a hazelnut latte)! What sets this place apart though is the tea. Tea is a labor of love for Aaron and he has created many of the blends himself. I am hardly a tea expert so he talked me through the different varietals. I settled on an Oolong tea which he prepared in the traditional Chinese way using clay pots, a precise temperature of water, and multiple steepings. I ended up getting 4 cups over a 30 minute period and each was slightly different due to the repeated steepings. It was very interesting. This place far exceeded your typical British Tea Room (which it is not). Whether you love tea, coffee, cocktails (which they also do), good food, out just a quaint place in a historic setting the Mercury Cafe and Tearoom should be a must stop on your list! We...

6/10/23 Third time here and it's fantastic. Had the artichoke dip, grilled cheese, tomato soup and the la la land latte. Make sure you have some extra time, but it's worth the wait. 7/29/23 Another great experience at the Mercury! The dirty Chai was great. The taco salad was very tasty, but misses the mark if your a Mexican cuisine enthusiast. 9/30/23 The nachos are superb! I love a good loaded nacho and this combination is so good you'll want more. Don't forget to get the La La land latte, yes coffee and nachos, who would have guessed. 2/29/24 A hot La La and a cheese plate while working on my laptop was the ticket today. As you can see, this place is top of my list for coffee spots.OK! 7/18/24 A year has passed and the La La is still my favorite. Today added in the jalapeño popper hand pie. I don't know why your not there already!
