Stopped in on a Saturday night after eating at The Mercury Cafe couple doors down. My wife wanted a nice place to talk and hang on our anniversary and she had read about The Sycamore in a local magazine. I have been to wine bars in the past but this one has a twist; we get a card on checking in and you select variety and pour size(3 levels of pour) using their Wine Wall. I believe there were 16 different wines from heavy reds to light sweet whites & also several spirits(whiskey, tequila…). Price were fair and my wife enjoy trying several different wines without putting out big money and not liking the choice. The folks working there were super friendly and helpful in using their system and they in wine selection. They have a small selection of light snack foods(we didn’t need anything after dinner), but know that they aren’t a restaurant. Only reason I gave a 4 star was the music level. The room itself was cosy and intimate, but the volume level on the jazzy music was too high. The selection was great(Sinatra, bossa nova,…), but at times I had trouble separating the music & other tables from my conversation. All in all, a fun visit and we will...

I actually came here for the first time while just spending the afternoon at Battery Park, The whole area there was new to me, Very beautiful park with many nice cafes/antique shops along the way. With that being said I couldn’t have ended up anywhere better then where we decided to end the night and that was at The Sycamore, I remember walking by there earlier but didn’t think much of it in that moment & the day itself was beautiful outside (I was also on a first datešŸ˜…šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø) So the idea of sharing some glasses of wine along with my date seemed like the perfect touch to end the night, An I was left in awe when going those steps at the entrance I didn’t know what to expect but no complaints whatsoever from the scenery to the staff an how helpful they were explaining how their wine process works there, Overall just a 10/10 experience an I hope her & I will be back there together soon...

We stumbled in on a Saturday afternoon unexpectedly. We've been trying to get here for awhile. You walk down the steps and bam! It's cozy, and dark and so perfect, for the people who like great wine, in a very intimate setting. One of the owners was there and she was so full of information about the wines, the history, of the building, the little neighborhood, and was an absolute joy to talk to. She checked in on us often to make conversation and we couldn't have been happier! They also have these cute little charcuterie boards, which makes it nice to nibble and sip! We really enjoyed ourselves, and we will be regulars, and you can thank me later when you do as well! Kudos Sycamore, you are a great addition to our...
