If you’re from Texas, and you know good Mexican food (I’m not even talking about Tex-Mex) this is not the place for you. The food was SO bland. I don’t know how someone can mess up quesadillas the way they did but it was so bad. The chicken was beyond dry and had a horrible poultry taste to them. The coctel de camarones came half empty and it looked like a drink. Fish tacos were fried in old oil. Then they brought out some extremely tough, dry beef flautas. The margaritas had almost zero tequila in them and they were each $10-15. Oh, and btw they will charge you each time you get a soda refill ($2.50 each time) and there was no mention of this on the menu at all; I should have taken a picture as proof! The only good thing was the chips and salsa but they SKIMPED so hard on the salsa!!! I knew it was a big red flag when they brought out a bowl with the smallest amount of salsa for four people! Lol We decided to try this place out because we’ve been craving Mexican food, but we left beyond disappointed at the service, food, prices. The atmosphere was really great, however, and I enjoyed the mariachi playing (that was the only good part).
Please save yourself the $$ and don’t come here or make it at home. Also, it was so expensive!!! Be prepared to spend around $20-25 per person with a meal and a non alcoholic drink (with alcohol maybe $30-35 per person). Pure insanity. I normally give places a second chance when I’m not satisfied the first time, but I am 100% certain that I will not be returning here, so I will continue the search for a great Mexican restaurant in the NE! Just putting this review out there to warn others! Heed...
Read moreI'm writing this review in hopes that management reads it and can take something positive away. For some context, I run a food business.
I've eaten here three times and have wanted to love it because the vibe and branding are on point.
But it seems to me that the menu development and recipes are not managed properly.
We just ordered chicken quesadillas. A fairly straightforward Mexican dish.
The rice was not good. It had a large chunk in the middle that was hard. It was overall pretty mushy and had no flavor. The beans had zero flavor. Literally out of the can and boiled.
The quesadillas were just what seemed like boiled unflavored chicken and cheese.
There wasn't any sour cream or salsa/got sauce or anything.
Just an overall very mediocre dish.
I feel as though there should be some standards set for recipes and making sure there is more flavor and attention put into the food.
I don't hate the place, and i will return, i just think there are big improvements to be made...
Read moreI came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch while in the area and after hearing how great the Mexican food was. We were able to find parking right on the street and didn't need to pay for a spot. The inside was colorful and had cool decorations on the tables as well as the wall. We were also seated immediately by someone and orders taken. They had some options on the menu that you don't see at a typical Mexican restaurant which was great as well as chips and salsa. The food came out in a reasonable time and the portions were pretty big as well. The enchiladas were good and the sauce they were in was flavorful. The mixiote verde pollo I felt needed a bit of salt and seasoning, same with the beans that came with both. But both were filling and enjoyable. It also took us a little bit to get our check and then had to flag the waiter down, but overall it was a nice visit. I recommend it for some good food and a...
