In direct contrast to the term Fast Food, they bordered on holding orders hostage. Their drawer was down when we entered the store, and the girl behind the counter seemed unsure and without confidence about the solution. She said they couldn't take card, only exact change. Difficult to have on hand due to the nickel and dime addition of tax rates. This would have been fine, just a 5-10 minute wait, except then their drawer was off somehow, and they didn't know how long that would take to get reported. For some reason they had taken both drawers down at the same time. A man in the lobby offered to give $20 cash for his food, in exchange for a few extra tacos to bring the price closer to that higher amount. One of the young men working the line stepped forward and said they could do that, but not for extra tacos, they could do that if the difference was a tip. The girl behind the counter froze and we ended up walking out because of the ridiculous situation. I wasn't even given my drink while waiting, just left to stand there and watch this unfold, leaving both hungry and disgusted at this brief view of how the New Hope store is apparently run when the manager...
Read moreI am here now & impressed with the speed of the order and the genuine customer service I received. Could use a little more cleaning, but probably only because it's busy. I love how management responded to feedback about being short staffed with having more people on duty & hiring to increase it's staff. Other businesses should thrive for this level of responsiveness.
EDIT (5 stars to 3): The hiring sign was actually for other stores as I was told when following up with a job application here. When I was transferred to the manager my phone glitched and he couldn't hear me, he understandably hung up; however when I called right back no one answered & was sent to an operator which is very unprofessional & rude. Since I've regularly come back I've noticed it's consistently messy although it has recently improved. The cooks & people serving the food are genuinely friendly as I've noticed, BUT the cashiers are NOT, acting as though they are either dead inside or hate their job. Read more09/08/16 - Came to the store to pick up dinner around 7:30pm. The manager was standing outside the store talking with someone. There were two employees inside slowly making large orders for two patrons waiting at the counter. I was not acknowledged by an employee for the first three to four minutes, as I stood at the register waiting to order. A third employee was called out from the back room to help - he put some gloves on and wandered around aimlessly the entire time. After ordering, I waited another 15+ minutes before my food was done. The manager came back into the store then to run the register. There were several customers waiting in line to order at this point. During that time, a woman came back into the store with her order because the meat was COLD. Two people who ordered after me received their orders and left the store.
