I cannot explain how impressed I am. This place is exactly what New Kensington needed. I am so glad to see the community come together like it does in this place. I met the owners/founders and talked to them. Their story is an excellent one. The food here is phenomenal. The concept is genius. The building was renovated beautifully. The central location makes it perfect. It’s a perfect place to get together with family or friends. I came for lunch with some friends and this place was packed. Their live music is awesome!!! This is highly recommended for all ages and families. What a wonderful atmosphere! Congratulations and keep up the great work!

I found this place randomly when looking for breakfast near a couple breweries. The concept alone is worth the visit, but honestly…come for the food too. This is easily one of the better breakfasts I’ve had. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The bacon was so thick. We ordered extra under the assumption it would be sad and thin, and ended up full before we even started on the extra bacon. The portions are more than generous for what you pay. There’s a drink station that you can have all you care to enjoy. All of the volunteers are kind and helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

this is a community-based cafe which means that if you can't afford to pay you don't have to, if you can afford to pay then they ask you to make a donation which is the total of your bill, and you can pay it forward, in other words you add some money so that somebody else will be able to eat. Volunteer based excellent food a very good menu with complimentary drinks water coffee. There's an outside seating area and a very nicely done inside seating area. Very worth the trip the food is big and very well done. Nice staff who are all very committed to the mission.

This is a great spot with an awesome mission that they execute very well. They are a pay what you can/ pay it forward cafe. Meaning they help those who have challenges to be able to enjoy a delicious meal and also give those who can afford it a chance to either pay the regular modest price or add more to it to help them with their cause. They have an all volunteer group working and everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. They recognized I didn't know their process as I sat with the menu at my table and talked me through my first visit. You get your menu and are seated at a numbered table. When ready you go up to the counter to order and pay. You also get one drink and one treat included in the price of your meal from the friendly person at the drink/treat counter. As mentioned, they are a volunteer group. If you want to tip or just donate they have a donation box sitting near the register. That is what I did on my first visit. On my second I added an amount to my bill when paying at the register. Both meals were very good. I had the chicken gyro one day with buttered noodles and a cup of Italian wedding soup. The second visit I had the quiche trio with a side salad and another cup of the soup. I greatly...

Do NOT eat here if you have any food allergies! My 20 something daughters went there today with their grandmother. My one daughter has a severe, life-threatening fish and shellfish allergy. My daughter is normally able to go to a restaurant, inform them of the allergy, and the staff are wonderfully accommodating. If they can't accommodate, no worries, we leave gracefully and with no hard feelings. We appreciate their honesty.

I understand the staff here are volunteers, but it was relayed to me how chiding, demeaning and dismissive the "waitress" was to my daughter, regarding her allergy. She refused to answer any questions regarding preparation, saying it wasn't her job. Ok, so my daughters sought out the general manager. He was barely any better. My other daughter shared that he sighed repeatedly, acting dismissive and annoyed. He appeared to have great difficulty understanding the questions regarding preparation. I realize this cafe is staffed by volunteers and does a good service for the community. However, I don't believe they have the training or empathy to serve those with severe...

What a nice place ! Nothing fancy but very comfortable and very clean. The food is great!. Went for breakfast but had a chance to look over the lunch menu. Lots of choices from soup and salads to entrees and sandwiches. This place is wonderful and serves a great need in the community. The menu items have a suggested price however, if you can't afford it, you don't have to pay. You can also " pay it forward " by paying more for your meal. I wish I had eaten here sooner. I would have been back many times already but , better late than never. The workers are all volunteers and everyone is very friendly . In addition to eating inside, there is a lovely area outside to enjoy your meal. This is a place that should be supported for the good that they do and for the delicious food. I know...
