Captain Scott's Lobster Dock, located in New London, Connecticut, is a quintessential New England seafood spot offering a delightful dining experience. The restaurant's charming waterfront location adds to its appeal, providing diners with picturesque views while they enjoy their meal. The star of the show at Captain Scott's is undoubtedly the lobster, which is sourced fresh from local waters. Whether you prefer it steamed, grilled, or in a roll, the lobster here is consistently delicious and cooked to perfection. In addition to lobster, the menu features an array of other seafood options, including shrimp, clams, and scallops, all of which are equally fresh and flavorful. The casual atmosphere and friendly staff contribute to the overall enjoyable dining experience at Captain Scott's. While the restaurant may not boast fine dining ambiance, it more than makes up for it with its authentic seafood offerings and relaxed vibe. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Captain Scott's Lobster Dock is definitely worth a visit for anyone craving a taste of New England's best seafood.

This well-known seafood restaurant offers good but not excellent food, with lobster rolls that are tasty but not spectacular... so temper your expectations. Overall, it's decent but not exceptional. Full Review: This well-known seafood restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While the food was good, it didn't quite live up to the hype or the expectations I had based on its reputation. One of the first things to note is that there is usually a wait (both to give your order then to receive your food), which is to be expected for any popular restaurant. The lobster rolls, a signature dish of the restaurant, were tasty but not outstanding. They were well-prepared and flavorful, but nothing about them stood out as exceptional. Similarly, the fries, fried clams, and drinks we ordered were all enjoyable but didn't leave a lasting impression. In terms of quantity, quality, and price, the food here is decent but not exceptional. While it's tasty and satisfying, it doesn't offer the kind of filling or truly flavorful experience that some may expect from a restaurant that so many people clamor over. The restaurant's ambiance and presentation seem to cater more to those looking to share on their feeds rather than those seeking a truly memorable dining experience. This seafood restaurant offers good but not spectacular food. The lobster rolls and other dishes are tasty, but they may not meet the expectations of those looking for a truly exceptional culinary experience. If you're expecting something truly exceptional, you may want to temper your expectations. --- You can find me on Insta: @imdanielyoon

This place’s food was okay and I would have given more stars but the prices and moreover the hidden costs! The lobster is definitely well worth it, the staff is nice and the view is amazing but don’t plan on going here if you want something cheap. The cheapest thing on the menu the hamburger for example. I got offered grilled or non grilled onions, I chose grilled no where did they tell me it would be $0.50 more (and okay that’s just $0.50). But overall it’s a trend. The little plum on the counter next to ordering, I later saw was $2, once again I wasn’t told. Bottled water $2! The small fries (and they are ok) $3.25. TLDR: be careful when ordering because you can rack up your bill fast! Would be great if they were just a little bit more explicit in their pricing and maybe more reasonable in their pricing of water and plums and such. C’mon, I’m sure they’re doing well, the place was packed! It feels bad to rate a place so low when overall the staff and food was good, but I hate hidden fees so much.

We have eaten here many times. The food is always good but things you must be aware of when you go there. When it gets busy, the parking is sketchy and hard to find a spot. On a hot sunny day there may be a 30 minute wait or longer in line to place your order. No shade and it gets hot. when you do get to the register, you’re met by a very friendly person who takes your order quickly, and your food comes out promptly. The prices of the food are slightly on the high side. The portion of my clam chowder was very small but delicious. The atmosphere is very unusual because on one side, you look at the Amtrak train, coming back-and-forth and the parking lot. On the other hand the other side of the restaurant overlooks the marina which is absolutely beautiful watching the boats come in and out. You can bring your own alcoholic beverages to drink under the pavilion if you wish. This is one of our favorite summer fun spots to come to. Just be prepared to wait in line.
