It occurred to me that I might not fit in EVERYWHERE I go, just most places. This didnt look like most places, and I guess I got a little bit intimidated and as I parked my bike close by but not on top of the place as I didn't want to disturb the cafe diners/drinkers on the buffet (some y'all call dat de sidewalk ya see...) and as i parked my lightening steed, i looked down at myself in all my head to toe leather and chromie skid-lid topping it all off; self awareness as if being naked in public for the first time might shake some people up, along with that tinge of self conciousness and loss of confidence. I instantly felt wrung out and errordynamical like every angle of mine was round and I knew i wasn't going to fit in at this overtly square joint. I mean i saw myself waltz in this place and trip just as I pushed the door open and turned all eyes to see who had just invaded their bubbly bubble. Well as i saw myself falling face first into the hostess stand I saw that bubble pop! Now at this point I didn't need to see me fumble for my money and spill my drink that i would have made a triple to calm my nerves, so, I didn't even bither to actually look to see where the entrance was. Go and be brave to check it out in your own! Where the hell's your sense of adventure? I apparently left mine on my lightening steed... Chilly...
Read moreWe were a party visiting town and looking for a quiz night for drinks and fun. A friend told us that MCYC was the best in town. I must say that this was the best I've ever been to.
The location was a journey and it never stopped. It happened to be happy hour and one of my fave beers was on special so I was happy to begin with. There tv's all over and LSU was in the college world series so the atmosphere was electric.
There was a food menu and we ordered nachos, shrimp, debris sliders, and mozzarella logs rightly named and the biggest mozz sticks ever! All were solid pub fare though the debris sliders were awesome.
The quiz night was multifaceted as pojnts went up per question per round and the variety of games was engaging. Though we didn't win, we were proud. I really wanted the swag raffle and that went to others as well.
I'll be back for...
Read moreThis place is definitely not for people of color!!! The Bartender who looks like she’s missed a ton a meals is very rude, looks like a drunk and she made every excuse not to serve me, even when all I asked for was a fruit punch, she refused to serve me, after serving 2 guys I was with (by the way they were white) I’m a African american lady. We were across the street at the park for a baseball game. She was rude Af and told me if I didn’t like it call the manager who was also just as rude and told me they have a right to refuse service to anyone. I didn’t do anything for them to refuse me service other than being BLACK! Of course I didn’t want to spend my money there after being treated so rude but was just curious about the reason Yea i will share this post on every platform i can think of. When you see her just turn around if you’re a...
