I stumbled upon this place on accident and it was an accident I am so glad happened. This place puts the continuing "ing" in AMAZING! I ordered the homemade buscuit with honey and butter, the dragonfly juice, daily decaf with honey, fries and Katherine's sweet potato hash! Everything was fresh, hot and well prepared. I was greeted personally by the chefs. Chef Greg prepared the food and if I could afford it, he would be my personal chef. Brandy was my waitress and she was a breath of fresh air along with being very attentive to my needs. Back to the food... the coffee was fresh and hot and gave the taste of fresh slow, stirring, drip. The grits were amazing with a distinguish taste that I couldn't quite figure out but made my tongue dance. The Katherine's sweet potato hash is a whole personality. I'm not sure what they put in it but it is just the perfect amount of sweet and savory mixed in warm and goodness. OMG!!! Where has this place been all my life. I ended my meal with a fresh dragonfly juice (orange juice and hibiscus tea), Lawd have mercy. They have $20 BOTTOMLESS Mimosas and $10 BOTTOMLESS drinks (juices, coffee, tea, etc). Not only are you getting a healthy and great meal but you are also helping a great cause, The Raphael Village helps Guild members with Different-abilities thrive in life and the work place. I will definitely become a lifelong supporter of this place. I do however hope they add a blackbean or walnut burger...
Read moreMy family just ate brunch here this morning after being in the city for a few days. Not only was the food amazing with fresh from the garden ingredients and homemade flavor, but the entire establishment itself will tug at your heart strings. The owner employs incredibly sweet special needs folks, and everyone we met here created an experience we will never forget. Before we left I had to give the owner a gigantic hug just for doing what he does, all while serving up amazing food. I had the sweet potato hash, my husband had the Sydney’s Burger, my daughter had the breakfast burrito, and my son-in-law is still talking about his grilled cheese! I even got the owner’s special version of a French 75 which was great! All in all, don’t hesitate to patronize this off-the-beaten-path restaurant. I promise you will...
Read moreAs a local, this is one of my favorite breakfast spots in New Orleans (along with Bearcat and Brennan’s). Don’t miss a trip here if you’re in town visiting. It’s relatively close to the convention center. Owned by a nonprofit, dedicated to serving the surrounding community. Locally grown/sourced ingredients (many in the garden behind the restaurant). Safe area in the Irish Channel/Lower Garden District. Very clean, calm, relaxing vibes -whether starting a productive day, or nursing a hangover. Staff and service is incredibly friendly and attentive. Food is amazing and fresh. Wonderful atmosphere. Plenty of vegan, non dairy, and gf options. So much attention to detail throughout the entire experience. Would recommend the breakfast burrito or sweet potato hash. Also grab a cinnamon roll or gf...
