I was visiting the establishment next door and was told to park in the driveway. I thought it was a bit out of place but I parked there because I was told to. About an hour into my appointment, the gentlemen stated that the lady next door (New York Pizza) asked if you could move my truck. I stated yes. Shortly after that, a pregnant woman representing New York Pizza came in and asked me to move my truck. I stated that I had no problem moving it but I parked where I was instructed to park and asked her- “Where would you like me to park?” She replied “I don’t know. Park anywhere?” (Throwing her arms wildly.) After a short while and being afraid of being towed, I moved my truck. After moving my truck, I walked into New York Pizza and told the pregnant woman that I moved my truck and that I was there to celebrate my sister’s bachelorette and that I really didn’t appreciate her dampening the mood and being rude. She replied with “What’s rude is parking your piece of s- in someone’s spot!” I stated “Really? My Yukon XL is a piece of s-?!” I didn’t stay around much longer to listen to much more she had to say. I wish anyone wanting to eat here good luck, you might be eating s-! Absolutely nasty woman and establishment. Any place that would entertain a woman working like that there is not a place I would patron.
The place had one table occupied when I was there, would not eat from this place if it was given to me.
I posted this review on Facebook and this was their response: “If you're going to complain. Please be honest. We don't know who told you to park in the shared driveway, but it definitely wasn't our establishment nor was it the salon you visited. Perhaps there was a miscommunication between you and them, but they never said park in the driveway, as they first came into our establishment, frustrated and looking to find who rudely parked and left their vehicle in the driveway. After they realized it was you, one of the their own clients, they apologized to our establishment. Then, we realized you relocated your vehicle to one of our two, reserved, employee parking spots. It is distinctly marked as such. When asked to move, you asked, "Where would have me park?". As if it our job to valet your vehicle, especially as you are not even our patron. You were told, "Park anywhere along the street, just not in our employee spot.". This was said with frustration, because, again, finding you a parking space is not what we do. You moved your car, came inside, and accused us of being rude by interrupting your bachelorette party and pedicure (to once again move a vehicle parked incorrectly). After you accused us of being negative by rudely affecting your pedicure (again, not our business), you were told quite exactly, "It was rude of you to park your s- in the middle of a driveway."
Then you got mad.
And that is exactly what happened.”
The pregnant woman and who ever else works here needs to reach out to Chick-Fil-A and/or Disney to find ways of better customer service. We were hungry, we could have easily dined there afterwards, but why would I when I was treated that way by a disgruntled pregnant woman?!
Anyone choosing to eat here can only be susceptible to the negative karma this place...
Read moreI was listening to The Neutral Ground with Kaare Johnson on AM 1280. He was doing trivia about New York and if you called in with the correct answer you would win a New York Pizza pizza. I happened to know the answer one afternoon, called in and won. My wife and I went today to try the pizza not knowing what to expect since this was our first visit. We were greeted and waited on by Susan who owns the restaurant (along with her husband Wayne). She was quite the character and we enjoyed talking to her. I wound up getting a large extra cheese pizza and my wife got a small hamburger and pineapple pizza. I don't know where Susan gets their cheese from but Oh My God it was delicious. The pizza sauce was tangy without being overly seasoned like many other pizza places in our area does. The crust was excellent, not too crispy allowing me to chew it and savor the flavor of the decadent cheese, sauce and grease from the cheese. I had a mouthgasm over this combination of pizza goodness. Despite being a "New York" restaurant I appreciated the appropriately sweet (but not Diabetic sweet) tea. This is the 2nd best pizza I have had the pleasure of consuming in all of my travels. #1 was a hole in the wall in East Tennessee with New York Pizza coming in a close 2nd. My wife and I will take our friends and family here for pizza in the future. I am sure they won't be disappointed as this is just darned good pizza that leaves you feeling satisfied. So a big thanks to Kaare Johnson for sending us to this great place and a big thanks to Susan for making us this fantastic thin-crust New York Pizza. We'll see...
Read moreSo New York Pizza is divided up into two sides so as you face the building they have a restaurant side on the right and a bar side on the left. You can get food on both sides but each side has different hours. I've been eating in this location since before New York Pizza even moved into this building. This spot was actually the last place I ate at right before Hurricane Katrina hit the area. I was always a fan of New York Pizza at their old location and I followed them here when they moved into this current location. In fact I have been far more than just a fan as I used to absolutely love this joint as they had one of the best deals in the city with their $5 pint and slice deal where you could get a pint of beer and slice of pizza! I also really used to enjoy the fact that this place stayed open later at night so you would often find quite a decent crowd of folks in here enjoying some pints and pizza. Unfortunately the insane inflation we have been experiencing ended up killing that amazing deal which had lasted a very long time. The end of that deal also seems to have resulted in fewer folks frequenting this place as often as they used to so they also tend to often close earlier these days. This is still one of the better spots to get some later in the evening/night food and they are also open for lunch as well. They do tasty pizza, lasagna, ravioli etc. and everything else I've had has been very good here.
