I want to start off by saying, "If I could give this restaurant more stars, I would!" I can't believe I waited the over two years it's been open to visit this place for the first time. First of all, the wait staff, Luan, Tommie, and Lexi, were so attentive, courteous, and friendly. They made sure that we were satisfied with our order, especially after my husband and I shared it was our first time eating Thai food. They made suggestions and recommendations that made our experience that much better! Now let me talk about the food! OMG, delicious is just the tip of the iceberg of my satisfaction with the food. It came out pipping hot, was fresh, tasty, and the portions were just right! If you are looking for a place to eat some great food, be served by a warm and attentive staff, in a cozy atmosphere, you have to visit this restaurant! Updated review: went back here after coming in from out of town. This time I went in and ordered my meal to go. The wait staff was patient and kind and made sure to get my order correct. I thought we would have to wait a long time but after placing my order, it took about twenty to thirty minutes. I didn't watch the time, but it felt long enough to good everything thoroughly! I got in my car and immediately my car smelled of the delicious aroma of the fried rice! I couldn't wait to unpack and enjoy! Once again, very pleased with this gem in the heart of New Orleans!

Thanks to my friend Britney, I discovered a true culinary treasure—Thai’d Up—and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the moment you walk in, the cozy, quaint atmosphere and warm, inviting staff make you feel instantly at home. The attention to detail is impressive—even the utensils sparkle! But let’s talk about the real star: the food. It’s nothing short of spectacular. This isn’t just Thai food—it’s Thai cuisine elevated to an art form. Every dish bursts with flavor, freshness, and care. You can truly taste the pride the chef pours into each beautifully crafted dish. The roti flatbread? Light, flaky, and downright heavenly—like eating a savory cloud. It’s a must-have every single time. The Pad Thai is hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the red curry is rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. An extra bonus? You can customize your spice level, which I love. If you like a little heat, I recommend starting with a level 1. Thai’d Up doesn’t mess around—those spice levels can definitely put some hair on your chest! If you think you know good Thai food, think again. Thai’d Up will completely redefine your expectations and keep you coming back for more. Once you’ve eaten here, no other Thai restaurant will compare.

Second visit (3-28-25).... Crab Rangoon was VERY good, appealing presentation, not greasy at all, with delicate flavors and creamy. Nice stimulating peppery sauce too. Regular Tom Yum soup was delicious with perfectly cooked aldenté veggies. Drunken Noodles with shrimp was excellent. Very accommodating and friendly staff. I ordered my items too spicy and to please me and help my palette, they re-cooked and reserved my Drunken Noodles; less spicy. So nice & it was perfect! The Pad Thai with shrimp was very good. Loved eating that creamy orchid too. Good value & price point! The crispy fried tofu w/ sweet chili sauce was a nice appetizer. Our creamy Tom Yum soups were delicious with perfectly cooked aldenté veggies. Yellow curry w/shrimp was stellar with abundant nice sized shrimp; plenty of perfectly cooked Jasmine rice. The Thai fried rice w/tofu was likewise delicious with a nice vegetable medley and beautiful edible orchid flower. We had everything "mild", which was a great way to test the Thai heat. Next time, I would go with medium but, for me, never Thai-hot! Highly, HIGHLY, recommended. We will be back!

So glad I finally made it to this Gentilly Gem! From the time I walked in and was greeted with a hug from the host Tommy, I knew that this would be my new spot. My friend has been talking about how good this spot is for so long that I'm glad I finally got to try it. Everything was beyond just good food, this place was just the vibe I needed.

Since my friend is a regular there, I trusted her to order for us. We started with the roti bread and crab rangoons. Both were delicious but I especially like the dipping sauce that came with the roti. Then we had the crab fried rice, they did not skim on the crab. This dish was so flavorful and full of crab meat. We also had the special, which was pumpkin curry, I was nervous to try this because I'm not big on pumpkin flavor but whatever they did with this curry made me a believer in pumpkin. It was simply delicious, I'm pretty sure this is seasonal so if you haven't tried it yet, please do so soon! For dessert we had strawberry sticky rice, yes you read that right! When mangos aren't in season Thai'd Up still offers that sticky rice dessert we love, just with a twist. The cook surprised us with Thai beignets, it was my first time trying them and I was thoroughly impressed. They were flaky, crispy, and fried to perfection.

The owners Kate and Ryan came out to ask us how the food was, they were so down to earth. Kate told me how she got her start in the kitchen, and I was truly amazed by her story. The food was so delicious I though she grew up in the kitchen, but she's only been cooking for 4 years! They were so nice and by the end of the night we were all taking shots (from the next-door bar jockey's) together. This place is truly special, its more than just great food...this place feels like...
