Donna's Canal Creamery — Restaurant in New Smyrna Beach

Decent for a java fix. Went in on a slow weekday morning, two ladies working the counter, only three people at another table. Asked for two coffees, a breakfast sandwich, and one muffin. They only had enough coffee made for one cup (???) so had to wait for them to brew another pot, they said they would bring it out with the sandwich and the muffin. Sandwich arrived fairly quickly, but then waited, and waited, and waited. I realize it takes time for the coffee to brew, but where was the muffin? Finally had to go to the counter and remind them...coffee had been ready, they just forgot about it and the muffin. Sandwich was ok, coffee was ok, muffin was bleh. 3 stars because it's still better than Dunkin Donuts...

Over charged me because the lady making the drinks told the lady ringing us up that they were both a medium and small iced latte; making my total $11 something. However; they weren’t lattes, one was an iced coffee and the other was “suppose” to be macchiato, but was made wrong. Each drink was suppose to be $4.60 according to their board. We tried letting the lady know after she asked what we had, but completely ignored us. I’m sorry, but what the lady that made the drinks did was very uncalled for, lying to make an extra buck. She wasn’t even professional anyways as she stood there looking at us leaning on the counter...

I go here every day during my annual trip to New Smyrna Beach. They are one of the few places I’ve found that can make my favorite drink, an iced coconut mocha with soy milk. There were a few slip ups (I got iced coffee instead of espresso in my drink one time) but they had no problem remaking it for me. Others in my family have gotten the ice cream and enjoyed it. The decorations in the shop make for a really comfortable atmosphere. When I come back in April, I’m going to try some food and...
