I normally donât care or have the time to leave a negative review, however, the experience we had as first time guests at Jasonâs corner was devastating. We came in around 12:35-12:40 to eat with our pup, Jolene. We lost our first baby dog unexpectedly a few days ago at only three years old, and we wanted to take her baby sister to a dog friendly place where she could eat off the menu which we were so excited to see that Jasonâs Corner provided that experience. We sat outside. Our server, and I donât even remember her name because we were in such shock, immediately struck us as a not so friendly and rude person. Nonetheless, we were there for our baby girl, so we ignored the strange behavior. She told us that she had two other tables to take orders for before ours and that take our order after those tables. We just brushed it off, understanding how the service industry works since we have been servers ourselves. She then comes back, 10-12 minutes later when itâs now 12:52 to take our order basically rushing us to order. We told her we were waiting on one more person, and she rudely said that the grill is probably closed since according to her the restaurant closes at 1pm and either we order now or we can go somewhere else. We told her that he was walking up to the restaurant as we speak, and she told us word for word that âthe cooks donât care and the grill is probably turned off at this point and they have been here since 5am and want to go home so either we order now or she can void our ticket and we can go somewhere elseâ. Meanwhile, itâs not even 1pm so why would the grill be closed if the restaurant doesnât even close till 1pm? And BTW it says the restaurant closes at 2pm on google. And at no point were we told during the visit that the restaurant was closing soon until she so rudely basically rushed us out to the point where we just didnât even want to put an order in with such a terrible server. We were so excited to try this restaurant out since the loss of our baby girl and have our other pup try the menu since they provide a dog friendly menu, however, This server made it an absolutely horrific experience for us and I hope that this is not what Jasonâs corner is really about. To think that a restaurant, especially a local recommended favorite, could let someone like that work there is beyond me. It was a horrible experience for us and especially not what we needed during this time of grieving. You never know what someone is going through, and I donât care how much you hate your job, donât make everyone elseâs experience miserable just because you donât want to be there. Just...
Read moreItâs amazing to me how a âsmall mom & pop restaurantâ can have someone so incredibly rude & condescending working as the face / waitress. Apparently per our waitress there is no manager on duty at any time to take care of issues during your visit? First I was laughed at when I asked what type of hash brown would be served. Then upon receiving my RAW Belgium waffle, I was laughed at again as she ran away with our food then we advised we didnât want the waffle. Further being told that oh the waffle is supposed to be like that & we need to ask for it to be well done. Upon stating we tried to tell you before you ran away with the waffle. The waitress then raised her voice at me asked why I was talking to her like that & became increasingly combative. After agin, asking about a manager or owner as we clearly were not enjoying our experience - Dina or Tina Lewis advised there was no manager or owner available to help & she had no idea when they would be in. Low & behold when she then refuses to come back to our table to cash us out, a waitress by the name of Megan shows up & says that Jason & Kelly are the owners / managers & are in fact in the building they are in the back advising they are the ONLY COOKS. If theyâre the only cooks, theyâve been there the whole time & our initial server Miss Lewis lied to our faces to simply avoid us talking to them. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a âmom & popâ restaurant. Itâs a shame to say weâve been here before & had wonderful experiences â but this one certainly put a sour taste that Iâm not sure Iâm willing to test again. May the luck of the server draw be with you...
Read moreWe stopped for a mid-morning breakfast on a Saturday (after visiting the Farmer's Market). It was a busy place, but we were seated quite quickly (if a bit brusquely by a woman server who jerked her thumb over her shoulder and said, sit there! LOL). The menu is quite nice, and they offer bloody Mary and mimosa if you would like that with your breakfast. Observing the choices of other diners, I saw plate after plate of beautiful looking breakfast food being served.
We were not that hungry (too bad for us!) so chose a simple egg and rye toast for my spouse and I had a small cup of sausage gravy, scrambled egg and biscuit. My spouse also chose a bloody Mary and said it was very good.
Everything was beautifully cooked and served HOT! The eggs, both the over medium and the scrambled were cooked without a bit of brown (we both dislike overcooked eggs!). The toast was hot and fresh, the biscuit hot and fluffy. The sausage gravy was nice, and a bit different than what I'm used to. This was snow white gravy with sausage (I'm used to a browner gravy) and very flavorful.
Our server was very good, and helpful.
Be sure to bring cash, as it's the preferred payment there. They do take CCs but there is a small extra charge for using them.
Parking was a challenge as it was marathon weekend and all available spaces seemed to be taken up! We did find one after a bit, and all was well.
Definitely will return and and absolutely recommend this "Mom and Pop,"...
