This place is a disappointing mess. We came at 5pm on a Tuesday (9/16). We will not be returning. There were barely any other customers there but we chalked it up to being a weekday.
We ordered our food and drinks - two beers, a burrito, sandwich, and an extra order of fries since the $14 sandwich doesnt come with fries. They didnt have beer that was on their menu and we were told âmanagement put the menu sign up too early and we dont actually have that beer yet.â Weird, but we didnt think too much of it. He also did not ID either of us even though we are both in our early 20s.
A few minutes after sitting down the waitress came out and said that they were out of wraps for the burritos. How can you be out of wraps at 5pm on a slow Tuesday? But okay fine, ordered a burger instead. We waited 10 minutes with no drinks and saw the two servers just sitting behind the counter, leaning on the counter and just talking. One of our meals came out shortly after and when we asked about our drinks the male server looked confused and asked what we had ordered. They brought the drinks and the second meal out a few minutes later, and we then had to ask about our order of fries which they also forgot about. The burger we ordered instead of the burrito had the thinnest and tiniest patty either of us have ever seen on a burger, it was essentially a BLT with no meat. It was not advertised as a smash burger or anything similar. The sandwich had extremely dry pork but was otherwise okay (not worth $14 though).
Overall just extremely disappointing service and subpar food for the price. There are plenty of better restaurants nearby for anything you can get on this menu but ten times better and for the same price. And they wont forget half of the things you ordered even if they are busy. Thankfully we had a gift card otherwise we would have actually asked for a refund. For such a prime location on Canal Street you would think they would put a bit more effort into their business. Its no wonder they make you tip at the counter before actually getting your food, as otherwise I dont think they would be...
Read moreWas hungry while waiting in line to order. Even hungrier 40 minutes later after the last toss back of my one lonely beer that had minimally kept me sustained. Looked around, lunch crowd had pretty much dissipated on a lovely, breezy Saturday afternoon. The first Saturday of the month in New Smyrna Beach is popping busy with artist vendors and sales at the boutiques on Canal Street. Music everywhere is one good vibe with Stick Figure playing in the background. Youâd be challenged to not enjoy your time. Unless. Unless youâre still hungry and food is MIA with no ETA. As I was gathering my shopping bags (beer is empty) to move on with my day and find food elsewhere, a female is literally jogging up to me waving receipts and apologizing before she reaches me. New staff, mix up in the kitchen, sheâs the new Manager, she comped my burger AND beer, apologized profusely yet sweetly and Iâm thinking I wouldnât want her job! So gotta give kudos to Robin for not losing a customer today. I had left a tip before service was delivered so yeah, I was def going to leave a review. I ordered another beer while waiting (still) for my burger that arrived in 5 minutes after she chatted with me. Hey, transition is never easy. Food service isnât the most rewarding job but the tips add up at the end of the day and ppl gotta start somewhere in the work pyramid. I did 50 years ago at a Fosters Freeze in California LOL! Bring a smile to work, kids. Itâs...
Read moreIâve been coming here for a while, and itâs honestly been frustrating to watch this place fall apart. Not because of the staff, but because management is choking it to death. Iâve tried to give it the benefit of the doubt more than once, but at this point, it feels like the people in charge are just squeezing every ounce out of the employees without caring about the guest experience or long-term health of the restaurant. There are usually only four employees working during the dinner rush â that includes the bartender, the manager, sometimes (but rarely) an extra person in the front, and two cooks in the back. Thatâs it. No food runners, no bussers, no dishwasher. And itâs painfully obvious. The wait for food is regularly 45 minutes to an hour, and itâs not because anyoneâs slacking â itâs because two kitchen guys are expected to handle the entire menu. Itâs an impossible setup, especially with a full liquor bar, dine-in guests, and online orders rolling in nonstop. The restaurant has potential, and the staff is incredible considering the impossible conditions theyâre working under. But corporate or upper management needs to wake up. This is not a staffing âchallengeâ itâs a deliberate cost-cutting decision thatâs burning out good people and actively pushing away loyal customers. Until that changes, I wonât be coming back â and I honestly hope the employees start walking out before they get pushed any harder. They deserve...
