449 LA — Restaurant in New York

449 LA is an incredibly special place.

I visited a few weeks ago and heard a wonderfully talented group of musicians perform, including Nikita White (vocalist). The space was intimate, and everyone was warm and welcoming.

I've been coming to the city for over two decades to listen to jazz and in all those years, this is by far one of the best places I've been. People will come to Harlem and likely go to the larger or more "trendy" venues for jazz, which is all good. But this place easily rises to the top for me. 449 LA is a very eclectic space alive with creative vibes and warm people. On the weekends they have live music and in the beginning of the month they offer OPEN MIC, so one can go and express their talents. Has a bar, stage, small area of tables and chairs.
