PALESTINE 🇵🇸 Eat the World NYC review: If you come in seeking only takeout orders, as many do, please do not miss the opportunity to walk towards the back and check out the baking go on. Baskets full of different types of breads, pre-packaged containers of cookies, and all kinds of pastries sold by weight are all made here by the skilled bakers, as are stacks of breads available for purchase. A gigantic oven sits at the back, and if you are too shy to peek around the corner just ask to use the restroom and you will have to walk by. The oven fills the restaurant with intense heat, and the man rolling and tossing dough for flatbread sheets called laffa (or taboon) looks just like a pizzaiolo. "This bread is straight from Jerusalem!" was stated at least five times about the delicious ka'ak during our stay and it could be felt how significant this was to him. Even in Palestine the bread is unique to the city, travelers from other parts buy many loaves to bring as gifts to their friends and family. The crust is soft and covered in sesame seeds, the bread inside even softer and so light. Despite being almost a meter long before cutting, it is not heavy and feels like it might float away.

Authentic, consistent, fast paced and delicious. Not to mention the attentive and friendly service. If you’re looking for a great shawarma or kebab or falafel you’re in the right place. Not to mention the fresh toppings and appetizers. Unfortunately they were out of all the pies, zaatar and cheese and spinach and all the rest but I’m definitely returning and hoping to give them a try. This is a hidden gem of a place and the employees are absolute legends. First time customer here but will definitely return. Thank you guys. Keep doing your thing. Returned today and my experience was just as great as the last time. Featuring the chicken shawarma wrap on house made bread. You can also choose your toppings. As many as you’d like and very fresh and like everything else here homemade daily. Got to try a pie as well. The olive and cheese, super tasty.

Best kibbeh on this side of the Mississippi. If you don't agree I give your money back. Seriously, it's mind blowing good. My favorite is to ask for the platter which makes a more balanced meal with fresh veggies, hummus and yummy pickles (I specially love the Palestinian crushed olives). The falafel is really tender and so is the chicken shawarma (I have yet to try the lamb). The fresh breads are so good too. Best of it: it's the service. Seriously you are always treaded the best, no matter who you are. I was short on cash a couple of times and they always told not to worry and pay next time, they even made sure I wasn't holding back on getting a dessert because the money. I always came back and and up my patronage. I love this place and I bet you will too!

We had a nice experience! We had a plate of hummus which was FULL and delicious a plate of FOOL (Arabic style cocked mashed fava beans) a plate of falafel which also was a good size and crunchy, the home-style PITA BREAD was amazing! Fresh, soft and authentic! This was for 3 people! And it was more than enough, the portion of food of each plate was generous! And the price is actually great! May be slightly more than other places! But I said GREAT because the quality and taste of it! Before my other 2 friend joined I had a FALAFEL sandwich which was also tasty and yummy!

There are about 3 tables on the back in a small area! A little tight with the beverage fridge on the back as well in that small area but the area wasn’t busy 1 table out of 3 was available! Most of their menus items are quick bit type! But even if you want to set you will be able to without waiting more than 5 minutes if you have to!

The servers were not attentive enough to us but we didn’t mind calling them couple of times to ask for more breads and ask about the tea if it was ready! I would recommend the store owner or manager to look into that!

I had the chance to talk to the owner himself and few minutes and he was welcoming my suggestions about few things that need to improve!

Anyways for a 3 months old business I think they are doing great but there is a big space for improvement expect for the already great tasting food!

Young owner and Crew and I was really happy to notice their vital energy!

A good thing that they do is SMILE to their customers! It’s a small things but makes a big difference. I wish you all the best of luck and growth! And I am definitely coming back to try...

The shawarma here...you won’t believe it! I didn’t want to stop eating. It is unlike any shawarma I have ever had before. A little upset since I thought the shawarma here in Philly was good, but now nothing will compare to this. The bread was so soft and the flavor of the meat and whatever else they put in there was amazing. In sh Allah I’ll be back next time I visit NYC. If you guys wanna open a shop in philly I’ll be your first customer!!

update I’m sorry to say I have to update my review after my most recent trip here over the weekend. The man who works at the counter and makes the food was very rude to me. Perhaps because I don’t speak Arabic. He didn’t even so much as crack a smile or even attempt to be polite or appreciative. The icing on the cake was, he slammed my money on the counter and didn’t even say thank you or goodbye. And on top of that, the shawarma was not nearly as good as the first time I had it. It was overly salty this time and not enough garlic sauce. I would be able to overlook the food being a little lacking and just call it a one-off, but the character and rudeness of the employee just put me off this place. If they want to succeed they will need to treat their customers with respect. I don’t see any business sense in a restaurant which doesn’t value...
