I have been ordering from this restaurant for as long as they have been in business; from small orders to catering orders, and I have often forgive the 2 hours wait for my food to be delivered. However, my recent experience is what got me to giving this restaurant the bad rating. I had an event on May 13th, and a week in advance I placed an order for 36 Dahl Puries. I was advised by the person that took the order to call back the day of the event to confirm and ensure that order is being worked on, which I did. At the time there only seem to be an issue with frying the doubles I also ordered, and I told them it was okay to deliver an hour later than originally planned. About 30 mins before my event started, I received a call from the person that took the order, and was advised that they do not have any dahl Puries. I tried to plead with him, to see if I can at least get 24. The Dahl Puries were apart of my menu and of course the other dishes prepared, was prepared because there was going to be Dahl Puri. All this person can say, was he is sorry. How can you be sorry when you almost ruined my event?? Stressed me out completely, and had my family and I scrambling to find a place where we can order Dahl Puries. Thank God for Sybil Restaurant that was able to prepare me 24 Dahl Puries in one hour. They save the day, and guess what? They will get the better review. My order got screwed up because of carlessness, lack of staff (probably) and no respect for other peoples' time....
Read moreIn the Hospitality Industry for 40 years with the knowledge and taste of what back home Guyanese /Caribbean pastries and Chinese-style food should be. No Guyanese /Caribbean restaurant in Queens New York comes close to what Bakewell on Liberty Ave has to offer. Never went in the restaurant to order, but today was my second taste of Bakewell food (I originally thought the name was Big Well because most villages in Guyana had a Big Well for potable water). For taste and authenticity of Guyana and Caribbean food Bakewell knock it out of the ball park! Pricing, portion, taste and presentation are A class. This restaurant is certainly giving the competition a run for the money. Now, my number one, and family, back-home-Chinese food and Guyanese-Caribbean restaurant is Bakewell. The barbeque and jerk chicken fried rice are the best I had. Food critic, or not, I rarely write reviews because most times one cannot differentiate whether it's an honest statement, or just promotional. Nothing for me to gain here, but to give credit when a business, or person, excel in service. Keep the taste of back-home alive Bakewell!

Read moreI ordered 4 orders of food from here and the delivery guy only delivered 2. I called bakewell stating that I paid for four orders and only received 2. However they claim that they didn’t have another delivery guy to deliver the food and if someone can come and get it. I told them that I would call back and see if I could arrange something, then when I tried to call back they turned off there phones. I now go there to pick up the food and when I get there the lady with curly hair and glasses claim that they ended up selling my food that I already paid for. This was beyond bad for business and I’m really disappointed because I would purchase from here all the time. Because of there quick hustle to make an extra dollar off my food that I paid for I will not order from here again because of there lack of customer service and dishonesty along with behavior. I did not walk out of there being a happy customer. There employees especially the thick girl with the curly hair and glasses is beyond rude and needs to have a better attitude when dealing...
