Impulse Lounge — Restaurant in New York

The decor, music, and the DJ definitely got it!! 🥰 My friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. We went last night and had fun. Let me tell you what we didn’t enjoy.. First, the lady outside checking people’s bags need to fix her attitude. There’s a certain way to talk to your fellow Black women and thats not it. Second, the lounge needs to work on their service. The waiters/servers were hiding behind the bar the whole time. It was frustrating having to walk to the bar to order everything because they were all behind the bar as if there wasn’t a lot of people there and they didn’t communicate how long things would take to come out. The structure needs to be better. There’s numbers on the tables for no reason because no one came to the table. Maybe have servers be assigned to tables to ensure everyone gets what they need.

Also, I never heard of gratuity and a non cash fee at a BAR! There’s no way my friends and I were all told different prices for our drinks $15, $18, $20 plus tax plus a non cash fee plus gratuity totaling to $20-$30 for one drink! Its giving.. broke establishment. If you want to charge that for drinks. Include your prices on your menu as well as service charges so people can be more aware of what they’re paying for in advance. Don’t get me started on the cover charge at the door $20 per person after 10 pm. Y’all know damn well no one is going to the lounge before 10 pm. I’m tired of places like these stealing people’s money only to provide no good service, disrespectful servers and unclear policies. My friends and I loved the DJ, had a good time as well as loved the drinks don’t get me wrong but they really need to do better about service because that plays a huge part. Tik Tok really hyped this place up. B/c the drinks are so expensive, people weren’t as lit as they should of been in there if they were drinking more. Ambiance is nice . The service was horrible. Waitress only comes by to take order and goes missing. They promote that they have hookah at their establishment however it is at their discretion. They told me and my partner we had to wait for hookah because they were having an inspection ( at 9:50 pm) and they are not supposed to serve hookah (which is true due to the signs they have in the establishment saying “No smoking, No vaping”) . We waited over an hour for the hookah and “pop up inspection” to be over before inquiring only for the waitress to say that they would not be able to serve us any hookah. She also priced all of our drinks at $5 under their actual value on the bill(for each drink). They basically bait you into paying for drinks and food knowing they are not licensed to service hookah. Waste of money and time. The DJ’s were both horrible. The music just didn’t try to cater to any one crowd or different crowds for that matter. There was no smooth transitions of the songs being played. Overall this place is a 5/10 but can easily be 8/10 if they didn’t lie about the actual services...

I honestly wished I had read the reviews before going . The music was 7/10 , only because reggae was played Majority of the night. There is no happy hours special. 1 cup of margarita was $24 with tax and gratuity comes up to like 30 something. On the Flyer it stated 5 henny/ Patron and fire shots . Order two Patron shots and paid 30 dollars. So one margarita +2 patron shots equal $54 plus tax and gratuity came up to like 60 something. It’s clearly that they’re not being honest. I love supporting local business but this would be my first and last time visiting this establishment. The establishment is over price for no reason because I can go to another local business and get more drinks and shot for that amount of money.

Update: I made my purchase around 9:15 . And how is speaking with your bartenders beneficial for me. The issue is that I was charged 30 dollars for 2 shots that was supposed to be 10 dollars. I watched the bartender pour one cheap liquor in my glass . There...
