On Thursday July 3rd 2025 pastries were bought from this restaurant and there was molded pastry.
I don't know how long it takes for a cheese roll to grow mold.
However to make matters worse when I called them to advise as to the circumstance they were so rude and incompetent that I couldn't continue the conversation. I then called the next day they seemed a bit better and when they received the complaint the change over to unprofessionalism reappeared. The person (Kim) is cold and impolite and made it look like it was my fault that I got molded pastry. No empathy nor concern shown on her part. I can't understand in this day and age how some of these businesses don't have a way like email or text to verify complaints. I live like 4 miles away so that approximately 8 miles both ways and should get there with the bag of 6 pastries to them. How about it gets verified over an email/text and then it can be reimbursed or otherwise taken care of the next time I come. I tried finding the owner of this restaurant and I did but I was unable to reach her. You need to pay attention to your workers attitude. People can get bad goods...but the way it is handled makes a...
Read moreLoved it. I have been up and down White Plains Road in search of the best Jerk Chicken and had not found anything that held my attention since when Arawak used to be the spot to go to before they closed. Looking for something different to eat other than the traditional Friday night take out, I stumbled upon the Yelp review of Carifesta which offers a fusion of West Indian and Asian dishes.
I cannot more highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Fried Rice meal. Rarely, do I order any dish that I do not put some type of hot sauce on. I am glad I tasted before adding any sauce because the rice was perfectly seasoned and moist. And the most exciting part of my Carifesta experience is that finally... finally I had the Spicy Jerk Chicken I was looking for. It is not drenched in sauce, and not dull in flavor... This Jerk Chicken has just the right amount of heat and kick. I will most definitely be back there.
The only hard part is now going to be deciding to get the Jerk Chicken again, or experiment with...
Read more"I recently visited the Queens location of this Caribbean restaurant and had a mixed experience. While the atmosphere was lively, there were some notable drawbacks.
Firstly, the payment policy is cash-only, which may be inconvenient for some customers.
The lack of a physical menu was unusual, with the staff instead suggesting that customers take a photo of the menu board.
The biggest issue, however, was the lengthy wait to place an order due to only one staff member handling both in-person and phone orders.
Unfortunately, my meal was also marred by overcooked rice and watered-down pepper sauce. The additional charge of $0.25 for extra pepper sauce seemed unreasonable given the diluted flavor.
For a more satisfying experience, I would recommend visiting the Bronx location of Carifesta, which I found to be superior.
Overall, while this location shows promise, there are areas for improvement to enhance the customer...
