Edit: I forgot about the great music from the DJ. Many dope blends that kept me in a good space as I ate. That definitely added to my experience.
To the owner: This was Friday 7/18 around 8:30pm. I believe there were two on staff servers, one catering to indoor guests and the other to outdoor. I stood in the middle of the floor for almost 10 minutes and nearly walked out before I noticed the small empty table by the door. I'm a very gracious person, so if I could find a real excuse for either server to walk past me multiple times I'd definitely make it for them. Even the bartender just looked at me when I approached the bar. If I experience that again, I'll be more vocal but that night I did not want to chase anyone down just to be served.
REVIEW: I walked in during the evening just after happy hour looking to try their menu for the first time. It was busy and I wasn't greeted when I entered so I stood by the bar for a bit before grabbing a menu and just finding a seat. It took a while before I was addressed. I ordered a Rose Gold cocktail which was enjoyable. For eats, I ordered the Shaquanda's wings, fries and Garlic Broccolini. The wings were pretty standard, cooked decently with an interesting take on a buffalo sauce. They had a little kick. The fries were typical fries done right and went well with ketchup. Lastly, the Broccolini was tender and buttery. Easily the best item of the 3 and had a familiar taste almost like broccoli in garlic sauce from a Chinese takeout spot. I likely wouldn't try the wings again if I'm going there just for food. I'd come back for that Broccolini and to try their other cocktails. If it's busy again when I come, I would hope not to wait as long to be seated or addressed regardless of how busy it may be. Otherwise, it's worth another...
Read moreHaving frequented the Fort Greene location for years, we were counting down the days until this spot would open only a couple blocks from us. Hallelujah- that time has come! We were fortunate enough to experience this spot during its test run and were wowed by how together everything was only days into operation. Out of pure excitement, we couldn’t help but opt for standbys when it came to the drinks (a mezcal one and the other gin…I’ve failed on taking a picture of the menu, but do remember it was a super hard choice to pick just two). Utterly delish were the steak skewers, beet salad, deviled eggs and the half chicken (the whipped sides that accompanied the chicken made it for me). While everything we tasted was YUM and well-distinguished from the menus of restaurants nearby, those guys stood out to us. Ambiance was on point, to be expected with an eclectic playlist that was just what we needed. I’ve heard this is the new “date spot” for our hood…but I feel like pretty much any desire to imbibe should lead you here. Lord knows I’ll be showing up on the reg. I look forward to its unique vibe evolving as Bedstuy...
Read moreThe security guard is incredibly unprofessional. I like this spot because it’s walking distance from my home, but dealing with the guy at the door ruins it. Last night (6/21) I stepped outside (amidst dinner with friends) to smoke and he asked if I was heading home. I said no - just going to smoke, and I’ll be right back. Not even five minutes later I came back to the door and he yells “We are at capacity and those two people are before you” and closes the door in my face. I opened it and said “my things are inside - I only stepped out to smoke” and he responded “oh my bad”. As I went in he FOLLOWED me in to say “NO NEED TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE”. I’m a 5’5 woman - why he decided to pursue this (when he was in the wrong) was bizarre and made me uncomfortable enough to leave shortly thereafter. This isn’t the first time he’s been unprofessional. The vibe there isn’t worth dealing with...
