I want to start by saying I don't give alot of bad reviews but after the service I received from Beer street I will have too. My Wife happened to find this place as we we're attending a Concert at Barclay's center and we figured we could stop in to have a few drinks before the event started, I haven't been in Brooklyn in a while pre Barclay's. We were greeted by a man who asked us how we were doing and what we like to start with, I told him there was a pumpkin beer I wanted to try, the man turned around and started lighting candles and did not respond to me again at this point I asked the other person behind the bar if I can please have some service and that I ask the person next to him and he never responded. The bartender then responded that the guy next to him is not a bartender which at this point I was confused because he asked me what I would like. At this point the bartender serves my drink. I am not a bartender but I do drink alot of beer and travel to ale houses and breweries in different states. I was served a 4oz glass of beer in a stem glass, now I'm no professional drinker but this was a normal pumpkin ale not a high percent stout or imperial ipa which you would do that. What really got me upset was that my wife doesn't really drink alot of beer and usually goes for cider on the sweet side, she asks the bartender if she can get a sample to see which one she would prefer, to my surprise he told us that they don't do samples. I have never heard of a ale or brewery that would not let you sample a beer you will most likely drink. The 4oz glass they gave me was 8 dollars which you can go to midtown and have better beer for the same price and it will be in a 12oz or 16oz glass. I know Brooklyn is going through a changing process with all the new businesses and buildings they are creating which is great, but this is a Brooklyn I am not...
Read moreCame here to watch the final of the 2024 European Championship, which they were advertising on Instagram as a place to watch the match. They had zero TV's, literally ONE bartender to serve over 100 guests who were all bamboozled into watching there, and zero atmosphere. You couldn't watch anything let alone hear anything. The management of this locale should be absolutely ashamed of themselves because with a space this large, this place should be a neighborhood staple for big events. Instead, it's a dreadful, boring, and completely forgettable locale that has nothing going for it besides aggressively and weirdly named beers.
The fact that they somehow get away with showing anything on a wall via a projector but are too cheap/lazy to even hang a projector screen is beyond me. How about you invest in a sound system or TV's instead of lying on Instagram for undeserved patronage?
Don't listen to the fake Lauren Feldman review below - this place is an absolute abomination for anything involving live events on TV. The bartender was indifferent and overwhelmed and moving at a snail's pace. Stay as far away as possible.
UPDATE. Since the owner is trying to discredit the review, I'm gladly attaching proof of sale. To the owner: I know you're having a tough time making rent - as evidenced by the number of employees, lack of food options, televisions, and sewage smell - but you should start to consider spending less time arguing against valid reviews on Google Maps and getting to...
Read moreDo not come here if you expect kind or even remotely polite employees. We visited at 2 PM on a Saturday, and the place was completely empty except for our group of 16 adults (comprised of parents and grandparents) and 9 kids. Fresh from a birthday party at Chelsea Piers, we had a few (6) balloons with us. Despite being the only customers, the employees were incredibly rude. They clearly did not want children there, even though the establishment allows them.
Their hostility was apparent from the start. They gave us curt, one-word answers when we asked about drinks and displayed the worst attitudes imaginable. They mentioned having had issues with kids before and made it clear that they didn't want us there due to past experiences. Their behavior was unacceptable, making everyone in our group uncomfortable.
Avoid this place at all costs!!!! The service is abysmal, and the staff is the rudest I've ever encountered. It's shocking that such an unfriendly establishment exists in the otherwise family-friendly Brooklyn neighborhood. They should seriously consider relocating. I have a video of how chill our kids were being while these nasty employees just huffed and puffed around us the entire time but can’t post it. We left shortly after and went to BierWax just a block away who warmly welcomed kids and were so incredibly kind!!! Go...
