Despite the very downtrodden appearance from the street (honestly, you'd think the place has been abandoned!) the welcoming wooden interior is a nice surprise, with Indian tapestries and cultural touches everywhere. Most of the dishes we've had have been excellent, including the veggie samosa and onion fritters for starters, the mouthwatering and fragrantly spiced lamb korma, the tender, juicy salmon tandoori on a sizzling platter served with spinach. The chicken 65 was nice and spicy. The lamb vindaloo was disappointing compared to what I've had elsewhere. The lamb is top notch and tender, but the sauce was simply too bland. The chicken Tikka masala is very good. The naan with melted butter and hot to the table is the perfect thing to soak up the sauces. I highly recommend Bombay Heights.

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in an exceptional Indian meal that exceeded all expectations. The butter chicken was undoubtedly the highlight – rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor, it was the best I’ve ever had. The pani puri was equally impressive, offering a delightful burst of flavor with each bite. The accompanying sauces were outstanding, each boasting a unique and delicious profile that complemented the dishes perfectly. I also tried two different types of naan, and both were absolutely amazing, fresh, and packed with flavor. This meal was a true culinary experience, showcasing the vibrant spices and diverse offerings of Indian cuisine.

We had a wonderful dinner here last night. Service was great. Food was delicious. The sauces they give you at the beginning were better than any of the other ones I’ve tried at other Indian restaurants. We tried the Ka-Chori appetizer and chicken samosas. I had no idea what to expect from the Ka-Chori, but it was literally amazing. Try it! Samosas were also delicious! Tikka and biryani cooked great. Highly recommend!

The customer service is definitely the worst part of this place. Namely - decided to order off of their website instead of an app, particularly in order to make sure that the business - rather than a separate company - managed to get most of the profits. Well... During the order, the age of their website shined through: their card expiration dates go back to 2014 and as late as... 2022! So, if you happen to have a credit card that wasn't issued in this millennium, you might have a problem.

Secondly, I ordered a meal from them after finding their food palatable the first time only to get a call from them an hour and a half later saying, oops, we can't deliver to you! Come pick it up, or else we're going to have to throw it out - despite the fact that A. We ordered delivery and B. We really aren't that far and C. There was no indication that we were out of range.

So, if you like bad customer service that will let you know far too late that you need to come pick up your delivery(?) order and will guilt you if you refuse, and will seemingly sooner throw out the food rather than giving it to people in need to make a point, check out this place! If you're anyone else, there are a million good places like this in NYC - look elsewhere.

(Oh, and their food is okay, but the vindaloo is almost inedibly spicy - yes, vindaloo is supposed to be spicy, but...

The food is just so-so. And it’s fairly pricey for what is essentially a greasy-spoon Indian take out joint. But my real problem with these guys is their lazy, inattentive service. On the past 3 occasions I have had the following issues:

  1. Ordered for pickup. Went in at the appointed time. Was told it wasn’t ready. Waited 25 minutes and was then given the wrong order. The customer whose order I took chased me down himself, on foot, a block away to tell me they had given me his food. So I went home empty-handed and then they brought me the correct order 20 minutes later.

  2. Ordered for delivery directly from the restaurant. The ringer on my phone was accidentally turned off. When the delivery guy came, instead of just climbing 8 steps to the front door and buzzing the apt number written clearly on the receipt, he sat on his bike for over 10 minutes until I finally called the restaurant to see where he was. The food was cold.

  3. Ordered from seamless, just tonight. Upon completion of the order I was quoted a 7:25 delivery. Now, at 7:40, it says it will be coming at 8:00.

I really don’t know why I keep ordering from this place. I don’t think I will anymore. The food just isn’t good enough to make these hassles worth it. That’s my review of the ever-mediocre Bombay Heights. Good luck, and...

Ordered delivery and food arrived hot and fresh.

The puri I got was still hot and puffed, packaged well. The dough was a little sweet

The Mughlai paratha was delicious! It was just keema, no egg or chili but tasty. The dough was a little raw at one part in the inside while the outside was oily and crisp

The curry chicken was okay. Very sweet. So so sweet. I even asked them to not make it sweet but I’m guessing it’s in the base of their sauce so they can’t make it lesser.

Samosa chaat was good, wish there was more samosa but maybe I’m greedy for that

Tandoori chicken was well cooked and juicy but bland for my taste.

Food was fresh but overall sweet and less spiced for American palettes. I understand why but when missing home food and too tired to cook, these dishes miss the mark.

I will definitely order again tho for the Mughlai paratha alone…I really...
