Food is tasty, but can rise to excellent! Love the lasagna, and their shrimp platter deluxe! It is better than Longwood Fish on Prospect and Westchester Aves. two blocks up! They gossip a lot in Spanish so make sure to time the beef patties and pizza or they will be burnt on the edges. If you speak Spanish (Dominican dialect) join the ongoing conversation to keep them on point! Edit:(Oct. 17, 2019): Bona Pizza is now under new management! No more burnt food! They keep an A-B rating so come on out and taste their menu! UPDATE:(Aug. 11, 2020): Don't know what happened today, but I had the worst pizza slice I ever had in my life! We phoned in the order "...half pepperoni half sausage." Went to pick it up and they wanted to give us a half pepperoni, half extra cheese medium pie! Not the same thing. They rolled their eyes when they were corrected! The pepperoni side was fine, but the sausage side was rubbery, not stretchy gooey! My daughter who loves a thick crust, was complaining about how thick it was. The box says, " Custom made to your order"! It wasn't that way today. This was a one star effort if that much! Highly dissatisfied with today's food quality. UPDATE 07-15-2021: Management change again! Food is still high quality, but have increased by $0.50 to $1.00. I had a lasagne today that seemingly lacked a meat layer. I checked and did find meat in my lasagne! The noodles and cheese portion were nice and hot, the cheese ooey gooey. UPDATE 05-22-2022: Still wondering why they'd rather let my food burn than take it out when I know it's done🤔. They are gonna be known as "Burner Pizza"...

The pizza here is okay, it’s not mind blowing by any means… in my opinion, they don’t use enough tomato sauce… but it’s decent if your hungry and just want a basic slice that’s tastes pretty good and will satisfy your hunger. With that said, I will say the food platters here are really good. I usually get the shrimp platter which comes with a choice of baked potato or French fries, garlic knots and a bit of salad. The pasta dishes are good too… I haven’t tried it all but I can say they are fast, friendly, affordable, and the food is good. I’ve been eating from here (takeout only) for years. It’s small in there, they have about 3 tables. If you don’t mind people walking past you constantly to pick up or place orders while you eat, then you can sit inside and eat as well. This place is a little rundown throwback of a 1980s version of a pizza shop. But don't let that fool you. The food coming out of this place is delicious. The amount of food you get for the price is crazy(nice portions).they have a fried shrimp and baked potato or fries,two large garlic knots, 5 jumbo shrimp and salad for $7.while I was there everyone was saying how good the food is. The chicken parmigiana looks so good I sure that's what I will have the next time I go. The steak looked really good too. So I guess I will be making many more trips this place.
