Velvet paintings, pinball, and a pool table that's the right amount of eccentric. Taps are generally clean and there are some fine choices. Cozy corners and friendly locals.... And it sure beats the stanky dance hall that once brought cockroaches to this corner.... And as long as you hold the railing you can almost pour yourself directly on to the Manhattan bound L train...
