C&B Luncheonette — Restaurant in New York

I’ve been walking by this spot for a while now, and decided to finally check it out. My girlfriend and I each got steak, egg and cheese on a scallion pancake and we split the green tea pancakes for dessert. Everything was a 10/10! The scallion pancakes are perfectly flaky, and the cheese perfectly melty. The green tea pancakes are just the right amount of sweet, with a hint of sharpness from the green tea. We also got a couple of iced dirty matcha lattes — hers with strawberry and mine with vanilla. They use traditional Japanese matcha, and you can tell. Again, everything here was a 10/10.

The food is delicious, but the family behind the counter is what makes C&B special. A true mom & pop shop, Crystal (I hope I’m spelling it correctly!!!) and her parents are so kind and so welcoming. I will be returning, and probably with everyone I know....

Run don’t walk! The scallion pancakes are absolutely delicious. Perfect flaky, crunchy, juicy ratio. Every bite was loaded with flavor.

Green tea pancakes were perfectly fluffy and the taste wasn’t overpowering, definitely trying them again.

Iced Dirty Matchas w/ strawberry were perfect. 10/10 no notes. Way better than any overpriced nonsense you get anywhere else.

Came here with my gf for a morning date, we maybe said two sentences (“yuuup that’s the business” and “mmmm mhm that’s delicious”) to eachother because the food was too good to stop eating.

To top off the amazing food and drinks, Crystal & her parents were so sweet and charming. Definitely going to come back again and again and again… and...

Have had their scallion pancake breakfast sandwiches many times and just tried today their chicken katsu sandwich and taro coffee latte. Chicken was crunchy with a delicious homemade sauce. Found out they marinate, season, and bread their chicken themselves too, not pre frozen packaged. The coffee flavor was strong even through the ice with just the right amount of sweetness for my preference. Space may be small but it’s quaint and has a backyard space to enjoy the weather. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back to have more of their coffee and excited to try other things...
