AVOID AT ALL COST!
Probably The worst hotpot/KBBQ experience i had of all time And I'm not even kidding. Like many are saying The Hot Pot IS NOT HOTPOT! No choice of broth, 2 inch ring that boils down so fast with bland water broth But that's not all I had to ask a different waiter for our drinks and we also had to ask them to refill the hotpot sliced meats because when we got there they were literally near empty, even though we were the last table the buffet should be filled considering that we are paying over $40 for ayce not including tip
Service: Now lets talk about the service, The service was so bad that i had to insult the waitress by calling her :"stupid" because of her snobby attitude and come to find out it was a manager named jenny. jenny was very Sneaky, She tried to scam my brother by rushing him to pay without looking at the receipt on that little handheld device. She was like "OH i dont want to rush you but pay now because we are closing" she added 18 percent and tried to make My brother add additional tip without him knowing without showing him an itemized bill. I then demanded the paper receipt showing the itemized bill and it showed 20 percent instead of the 18 percent added charge she stated, Now mind you This Is my third time here and they always gave me a itemized bill and receipt with the 18 percent added gratuity. When i explained this to jenny , She said the same thing over and over again which didn't make sense which was " on the system I'm charging you 18 percent but on the paper receipt it only says 20% because i cant print it with 18 %" Does that make sense? lol I understand its a policy but then do it right don't try to rip people off and upcharge the 20 to 22 percent instead of the 18 percent listed. Jenny then tried to justify the 20% tip by stating we " came in last minute" she straight up lied through her teeth to us and said "in the beginning i told you gratuity Is 20 % since you guys came in last minute" that's very unprofessional of her because we did not come in last minute, right on the front of their entrance door it states "last table seating by 9:45" we came in at 9:15. Last minute is if we came in during closing which is 10 to 10:30 and yet they expect 18% tip when you have to serve yourself and have to demand your own drinks. Having gratuity automatically added is like a slap in the face for me and people who tip 25 percent because guess what it makes me not even want to tip at all. in the end i had to tell her to go f*k herself. i feel like this business invest more time into social medial like tiktoc instead of investing more into professional workers for...
Read moreWe had an amazing first visit here this past Sunday. We were impressed by the selection of meats and seafood, and we really loved the dessert selection. They also had a small selection of cooked appetizers (chive pancakes, chicken wings, ground pork, etc.) which I really appreciated. It’s nice to snack on something as you grill. My favorite from this cooked food selection was the fried runny eggs. I really liked eating that with my bowl of rice and it’s not often you see this being offered.
Another nice thing about this ACYE restaurant is that you can grill and have shabu shabu all for the same price. They have some veggies, noodles, rice cakes, mushrooms, and other items for cooking in the broth. This was a nice change and great accompaniment to all of the grilled meats. My only complaint was that I wished there were more vegetable options for both the grill and the hotpot. It felt like a very meat heavy meal.
We made sure to make room for the desserts at the end of our 90-minute visit. The mango sticky rice and shaved ice desserts were heavenly after the meal and the hot grill. At first, I was confused about the shaved ice dessert but luckily, they posted directions on what to do. Such a fun and interactive portion of this visit and not something you see at other AYCE restaurants.
Finally, I must mention how wonderful the staff were. They were very attentive and checked on us often. They changed our grill when it started to get charred, refilled our waters a few times, lowered the heat on our grill when they overheard us saying that the meats were getting overcooked and were overall great. The staff was so nice they even let us take a couple of mango sticky rice containers home.
I definitely want to come back and bring other friends and family and introduce them to...
Read moreI'm trying to keep an open mind here as this was my first time trying Thai BBQ but I have tried Thai hotpot elsewhere so take everything I write with a grain of salt.
First things first, the selection. I'll split this into a few categories, bbq, hotpot, sauce, appetizers and dessert. BBQ-4/5: Decent quality meat. Some marinades were overly sweet in my opinion but super tender. It had some variety but most were pork so if you don't eat pork I think this place is a pass. Hotpot-1.5/5:Practically everything in this category missed on every level. Their selection was very limited. Some of my go to picks at other hotpot locations were either much worse, or nonexistent. Brisket is NOT on the menu. Neither spam nor sausage. No enoki mushroom or fried tofu. I tried two kinds of noodles. Both flavor and texture missed by a mile despite being "ready to eat". I think 2 things were passable, the Napa cabbage and jalapeños. Sauce-4/5:lacked variety but the few they did have were good. I recommend the seafood sauce. Appetizers-0.5/5: Again a lot of misses here. Pancake terrible, fries soft and cold, crab rangoon was soft and bland, dumpling was not as bad as the others with sauce but wouldn't eat it again. The only somewhat redeeming item was the chicken wing. Dessert-4.5/5: the saving grace of the meal. Their shaved item section had little selection but every option hit the spot. If I had a choice, I would remove the contents at the bottom of the cup. It wasn't bad but it overlapped flavor with the syrups. Overall a solid 2-2.5 but I bumped it up because the staff was friendly and attentive. Probably not a place I would go to again since there are cheaper options with better quality that are closer to my daily route but it was a...
