We saw an IG post about the oxtail Philly cheese steak and decided to visit and try it out. We didn't see it labeled as cheesesteak, so we got the oxtail chopped cheese. We ordered an oxtail dinner with yams and greens, a side of seafood Mac n cheez, and some empanadas. Everything we had was good - my least favorite was the greens. They had a lil extra kick of pepper to them, and they were a little more tender than I prefer, but they weren't terrible. The space is small; if you're paying via card they have a kiosk for you to place your order and pay which was great! The prices are listed, and every possible question you could have about the food is listed. You get your receipt and a number and then wait for your order. It's basically a place to grab food, no place to sit and eat. There were two young ladies running the space in a Saturday evening and they were very nice. The spot wasn't crowded, but they are definitely busy. I'd definitely visit again for an entree, the oxtail chopped cheese was a one time thing. Not because it's not good, but I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and get a full meal. I recommend, it's a cute little spot. We had to double park, there were a few e bikes and other cars right in front, they're between a Chinese restaurant and a Spanish one too. I deducted one star because the neighborhood isn't the greatest, at one point someone who was exhibiting "mental crisis" behavior walked in, yelled some nonsense...
Read moreI soooo wanted to like this place but it didn’t happen. Upon entering there was already tension in the air, I should have taken it as a sign and walked back out but my niece wanted something and my husband said since you’re already there just get something. The place was having network issues and the front staff and the kitchen staff were not in sync. The owner/manger whoever was not in the best of moods and it was definitely projecting. I ordered and was told give them 10 minutes. I watched them plate my food and let it sit for over a half a hour while I waited for SOULless ROLLS. Yes, I waited for almost 37minutes for some nonsense I didn’t eat once I got home. They were super oily, with loose wet tasting Mac and two strings of collards. My fish was I fact soggy but I was given a fresh order. I should have left both of them there as it was soooooo salty. Nope didn’t eat that either. My buffalo wings were not only dry and tasteless, under cooked, and luke warm another item I didn’t eat. The Rasta Pasta looked good but it too lacked spice. The Mac and cheese I wanted to like but it was just too loose for me, a thicker roux or two eggs can have made a difference. My greens weren’t nasty but they weren’t good. I did like my yams and bevs. I would tell you I loved my OXTAIL EMPANADA BUT I DIDNT HAVE ONE! It was a soul roll. The banana pudding, I don’t even know how to describe it, a pass. After 1.5 hrs and about $80. I am...
Read moreWanted to see what the hype was about and definitely wanted to support a black own business in our community. Boy oh boy…. Definitely could have skipped this all together. Customer service is terrible. Ladies in the front Very unorganized. A gentleman from the back came and got the line down, soon as he went to the back it went right back to unorganized. I waited for quite a while, ppl who order waaay after me got their food a left. After seeing my face they asked what I was waiting for, gave my receipt and she said “Oh my god are your serious I could have been made that. I apologize I got you right now.” Now to the food, Rasta pasta was definitely delicious, honey jerk chicken not at all. It was tough to get off the bone. Mac & cheese not at all, noodles were undercooked w/ not enough cheese. Jerk chicken empanadas was delicious. oxtail empanada was delicious but too much gristle, but the flavor was really good. I dont know if I caught them on a bad day or time but this did it for me. For the money I spent my experience should have been so much better. Last time I’m...
