Today was my wife’s birthday. We chose this place hoping for a nice meal. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into a trash dump. We were greeted by a female staff member with the nastiest attitude imaginable — like we owed her a million bucks. We had barely started ordering (just the second dish!) when she just walked away without a word — no “I’ll be right back,” no explanation — nothing. Just vanished like we were invisible. And mind you, the place was nearly empty. It’s not like they were busy. If this is how they treat customers during slow hours, I can’t even imagine what they’re like when it’s full. My wife was disgusted, and I was furious. I pulled her up and we walked out immediately — I’d rather stay hungry than be insulted like that. In New York City, with so many great restaurants to choose from, how dare a place like this operate with such disgraceful service? You’re not running a business — you’re driving people away on purpose! Here’s my message to you: If your goal is to shut down, just keep up the attitude — you’re already halfway there.

I’ve been here several times and the food is pretty consistently good. The food is also very reasonably priced and the banchan is always unique and delicious. By the way, this is a rare establishment that serves brown and purple rice!! They also currently have a breakfast special and are open 24/7. We ordered the cattle blood soup combo with grilled spareribs and the beef tofu soup with grilled soondae. My friend said the cattle blood soup was great but my beef tofu soup was okay (strangely a bit sweet, possibly due to the onions). The grilled spareribs were also a bit sweet (but probably due to the glaze) but the soondae that came on a hot plate was delicious. Previously, we’ve order bossam, beef rib soup, and spicy beef soup with scallion (yukgaejang) and all of those dishes I would highly recommend! They also have a few parking spots in front which come in very handy.

I stopped by while in NY with some friends and the food was amazing. We missed breakfast by a few minutes which I was sad about but we caught lunch and I’m so glad that we did. I honestly had a hard time letting the food cool down enough to eat. I got some kind of beef stew and it was very flavorful. The meat tasted like it was marinated, it picked up whatever it was soaked in very well. The banchan was fresh and delicious. We ate them all by themselves before the food even arrived. The staff was nice and patient. There was an odor that I didn’t like and it did upset my stomach. I think it might have been coming from outside though. Honestly the best Korean food I’ve had. I’ll definitely come back during another visit.

As of posting this 09/17/21 (around 2:30 pm, group of 3 people, tables were pretty full but they have gotten their meals by the time we got there) had lunch and the service and food wasn't really that good.

I think the waitress didn't know English so that didn't help much (nothing was said to us in English). We pointed out what we wanted on the menu and she gave us a confuse look like 3 dishes (took like 2 extra minutes of pointing to pictures from the menu for her to get it). We had to flag down a waitress for refills. We got our food pretty fast but the look and taste felt cheap.

My mother got the Korean sausage which look and tasted like it was purchased from H-Mart across the street just heated up and tossed on the plate. The Pork Soup which my father got which looks like the stuff he makes at home (he said that it tasted bland) and the the Pork Back Bone Hang-Over Soup in which the soup tasted like the soup mixes you get from the packs of instant ramen. When you pay they let you know the tip amount and total with the tip so you don't have to calculate it yourself.

Left this place unsatisfied and will not be coming back. Despite the many low ratings (as of typing this) I gave it the benefit of doubt which is why we came here since many of the ratings were from a year ago and thought the service and food might...

My husband and I frequently have come here in the past. Service and food has been good for the most part. When we went today we ordered 순대국. Something about the broth or the meat had a weird after taste, almost like spoiled meat. When we called the waitress over, I explained in Korean that the soup tasted weird and how we always came here for the same dish and it was always good. She tells me that she’s been serving it all day and no one else has complained, basically ignoring the fact that maybe we have gotten spoiled meat? Then she goes back to eating with the other waitress when there are a few tables that are in need of service. I understand they need to take their lunch breaks but it’s my understanding in the restaurant business servers need to take breaks in shifts, especially if they’re the only 2 working and there are 6 tables being serviced. If this is the way they do business with 0 customer service or trying to remedy the fact that I didn’t touch my soup at all, they’ve definitely lost business from us. We have been going for a few years but we are never going back. We went up to pay and I told her again that the soup was inedible, she takes our money and goes “sorry” to my husband who was paying. We left them no tip....

Disgusting place!! I saw A BIG COCKROACH crawling on foods ordered from the restaurant,Byungchun soondae. I had lunch with my friend in the restaurant,Byungchun soondae in Flushing on Sep 25th, 2017 While I am having foods, I saw a cockroach crawling on the foods. How come this happened? I couldn't stay there and longer so I came to the cashier for paying foods and tips and explained what just happened to let them know about it so that other customers will not have same bad experience like me. But what the cashier told me that they sprayed pesticide just few days ago and lots of cockroach started coming out from ALL OVER THE PLACE OF THE RESTAURANT since then. Does this make any sense to you? Literally she mentioned that Cockroach is coming out from all over place of the restaurant.. She literally admitted that the restaurant is infested with cockroaches. And also I found a 3M sticker in the bottom of the ice in the water cup. I didn't even mentioned about that to the cashier because I was so shocked by the appearance of cockroach. I am 100% sure that the place is infested with cockroaches and other pests.Don't go there. Nobody...
