Thanks for the response. You guys have far above average reviews, and I think I must have eaten there on an off night. I'm sure the beef burgers are much better, hence the reviews. I don't eat meat, but I appreciate the heads up. If the tostones were supposed to crunch than something definitely wasn't right. They were incredibly dense, thick, chewy and inedible. No crunch at all. I could see the sandwich working a little better if that were the case, but I still think the sandwich could be revised with far less guac, or simply as a really solid veggie burger. That cookie was dreadful and the fries could have been better, but I appreciate the response and I'm guessing it wasn't a smooth night the time I ordered, so I'm going to raise my review to 4 stars.
Would prefer to give this place one star, but they’ve somehow managed a good track record and I don’t want to be mean. So just consider this 3 star review 1 star. The veggie (mimic) burger was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. Who on earth puts two hard shells around a pound of guacamole and just calls that a sandwich? Structurally, it’s the dumbest food experience I’ve ever had. Every single bite just smushes the excessive amounts of guac off the sandwich and you’re left with a diaper of uneaten food leftover in the wrapper. The patty has a dry, indistinguishable flavor, and is overly salted. And what’s the point of lettuce and tomato on top of all that guac? There is absolutely no flavor distinction at all. I tried to eat at least half of it to prevent so much waste, and now I feel sick. The shells were terrible, not only as an idea but they tasted old and incredibly dry. They were a chore to eat. There is WAY too much guacamole on the sandwich, it’s insane. The thing weighed probably 3lbs and absolutely nothing about it was enjoyable. I’m tired of restaurants trying to reinvent a veggie burger. Just make a solid burger and make it consistently good each time. For the love of god.
The fries were WAY too salty. And the chocolate chip cookie was hilariously bad. It takes effort to make a bad chocolate chip cookie and they’ve somehow managed. It was incredibly small, nothing like the photo. It tasted exactly like those cheap, terrible cookies you buy at Duane Reade, or like a cookie from Subway.
I’m not sure how this place has managed such good reviews, it’s strange. Maybe the veggie burger is just a massive miss in an otherwise great restaurant. But I won’t be back and I highly recommend skipping this sandwich until they try something new and...
Read moreUPDATE After the success of our bridal shower, last month we contracted Cake Burger to cater a 20th Anniversary party for 90 guest. Menu included appetizers, buffet and dessert. Again, they did not disappoint. We had selections from pernil (roasted pork) to a vegan version of pollo guisado (chicken stew) made with tofu. It was delicious! The desserts were as equally delicious. We had a variety of cupcakes, a cute two tier cake for the guest of honor and a variety of mini cake burgers and hotdogs! Thank you Cake Burger for your accommodations and hard work! We hope to order from you again for our next event!!
PREVIOUS This is a little late but certainly necessary. We initially contacted this place for catering for a last minute bridal shower with a 1950's theme. Before we knew it, we were hosting the shower at this adorable, quaint eatery with a 1950s vibe and a 50s car right out front. The owner was so gracious, she closed the place for walk-ins for our private event and we had a blast! Food was delicious and the mini hamburger cookies and assorted cookies were all the rave! Her cake creativity amazing! I am ordering cupcakes for another event soon!!! Cake burger is a must have!!! I wish I could post pictures but I can't figure out how. I highly...
Read moreA damn good burger! 🍔 Seriously I’ve had a lot of burgers in my life and burgers happen to be my favorite food but this all American cheeseburger from @cake_burgers has to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I mean from the top to the bottom the soft, perfectly toasted brioche bun, to the perfectly crisp and fresh lettuce and tomatoes and melty cheese, and their special burger sauce?! Whenever a restaurant has a special sauce I have to try it because I have high expectations and this one exceeded it. The grilled onions made it even better! The meat was perfectly cooked and so juicy. It was like my dream burger had finally come to fruition. I am also a big sweet potato fries lover and they make the PERFECT sweet potato fries, everything is balanced so nicely from seasoning to texture. It’s no surprise the chef has past experience working at Michelin star restaurants and even received compliments from THE Anthony Bourdain!!!! I can’t wait to come back and try their specialty cakes and other desserts! My new favorite burger joint 😋💕
Plus the owners are so sweet and kind and provide amazing service and fun and...
