Update: We went in person to eat and the waitress was really sweet. Our food came out fast and was delicious. No complaints there.
The alcoholic drinks were a hit or miss. I ordered a frozen Mango Margarita which tasted too much like ice. They did it in a blender and overdid it with ice. My husband had the Jalapeño margarita on the rocks and it was good. We ordered the Kids Menu Chicken fingers and it was breaded chicken cutlets cut up in strips, but we loved it! You can tell it was freshly made in the restaurant and not from a Frozen Jetro Bag.
Then we ordered a 2nd time for delivery: Steak Nachos and again the chicken fingers with fries. The nachos were generous and the delivery came fast which we appreciated. They also put a generous dallop of Guac on top of the nachos which was nice.
Original: I give this restaurant 3.5 stars (not 4 stars, nor 3 stars). First timé trying them out. Never been inside so I don’t know what it looks like. This is for a delivery order.
The pros: They accept credit card over the phone. Since we live 1/2 mile away, the food arrived hot and fresh and within the time they promised. They were generous with the meat topping on my Huarache. The guacamole was fresh and good. The meats used in both dishes seemed freshly cooked and both dishes were nicely assembled. The food looked appetizing when we opened the packaging.
The cons: It’s very pricey compared to other Mexican spots; I wonder if it’s because of the rent? Usually, I like to call and order directly from the business instead of using Seamless or GrubHub and it’s usually cheaper - but here it was almost the same price and still pricey. I spent $39 plus tip for a burrito, chips and guacamole and 1 huarache. I wanted to get Agua frescas but each one was $4something so I decided to skip that. We wanted to order a platter but that was like $19+ and only included rice and beans OR salad. For that price, I think the platters should include all those sides. At least that’s how it is at other restaurants. So we decided to skip platters and go with cheaper options - but it was still expensive.
The food was hit or miss:
The burrito had tons of rice and beans and barely any meat - which is upsetting when you’re paying $13+ for it. Also my husband said it had no flavor- so he added salt.
The chips and guacamole: they sent very little amount of chips for the amount we paid. Very disappointed as that’s usually a cheap item. The guacamole was sufficient and had leftover since we didn’t have enough chips to eat it with.
My huarache was delicious. They put lots of meat, which felt fair since it was $13 or so. It was big too. Worth the price.
We may order again whenever we don’t have any cash on us because they take cards; but it won’t be often as it...
