I had tried Crawfords many years ago when they first opened up, had a terrible experience and vowed never to return.
Recently, I was starving and needed a quick breakfast for my husband and I. Crawfords was closest and on the way home so I went in to grab some bites.
First of all, customer service is atrocious. Starting with them making fun of this guy who had been waiting quite a while to place an order and then told him they were out of certain ingredients. He left upset and the guy behind the counter just starts mouthing off to me about him. I was totally mortified.
I place my order --- I do not joke when I tell you that making a grilled cheese sandwich, egg sandwich and tuna sandwich took them close to 30 minutes. What they were doing I have no clue.
The only saving grace at this point was pretty much the taste and quality of the food. The grilled cheese was nice and toasty, with melted cheese to my liking. That goes for the egg sandwich too. The tuna was a little meh, they add carrots and celery which is so random but I'll let it slide.
I do think the prices are outrageous. You're a little cafe in Midwood -- why you're overcharging for coffees and sandwiches I'm not quite sure.
I don't vow to really never return, but I do plan on not returning unless it is an...
Read moreI only gave one star because there isn't an option to give zero. My friend and I ordered 3 things: a salad and 2 sandwitches. Let me tell you a little bit about each. The vegetables tasted old and not fresh, especially the tomatoes which were rotten.
The sandwitches that we ordered we a grilled mozzarella sandwich and a tuna bagel. The grilled mozzarella sandwich I ordered was supposed to include lettuce, tomato, mozzarella, on a regular baguette (just under $10). The way it came was completely different. It was a whole wheat baguette with yellow cheese. The tuna bagel, which didn't even come on a bagel, was meh. And why pay around $6 for a meh sandwich when you can get a great one for cheaper from any local...
Read moreI got a gourmet pizza. There was nothing gourmet about it. For $11 dollars I would at least expect it to be thoroughly and evenly heated; underneath the spinach and cheese the mushrooms were fridge cold. It was so salty, it was hard to swallow. I would recommend the chef to adjust the cheese to mushroom to spinach ratio. Honestly, screwing up such a simple menu item makes doubt if I want to try anything else from here. My companion just threw her coffee out after a sip because it was burnt. Now I know why they asked her at the register of she was sure she didn't want milk and sugar...
