Checkers — Restaurant in New York

We tried he Big Buford. They were very good. The meat was moist and well charred. The lettuce was surprisingly crunchy. The signature fries were good but could have crisped more. The place on Gunhill Road in the Bronx, right now offering a Buy 1, Get 1. 👍Excellent food; try the new Brisket topped sandwich and their terrific Fries. It was beyond EXCELLENT. The staff was great,but service at Checkers is never FAST. And, the area is very high traffic and busy so hang on to your purse and children; Dregs and drugs abound...

(This review isn’t necessarily an indictment of this location.) Checkers’ food just isn’t very good. It’s by far the worst fast food burger place I’ve been to. With that said, this is the only Checkers that I’ve been to and I’ve been disappointed with the food every time. Also, I always seem to have a decent wait - even if I’m the only patron. Very little chairs to sit. Over priced and the app that has better deals doesn't work at this joint. The employees here were a little clueless with their card reader and told me I had to use the ATM they had in their restaurant to pay in cash. This atm was very dodgy and charged me a fee. The burger was alright along with the fries and I was shocked as to how strong the sprite I ordered was. Overall probably won't go here again and would probably settle for a pizza at the pizza hut next to it even tho...
