During my trip to Claudy's kitchen from Queens, I let my imagination take me to the beautiful memories I had back home in 🇵🇪 Every dish is so unique and cook to perfection 👌 Peruvian food is like it is meant to be for angels or God's...
But today, when I tried the food here at Claudys Kitchen, it didn't fulfill my expectations! I was looking for more like the delicious food I used to eat at a local restaurant back home, but unfortunately, I didn't find them here...
The Rottisserie chicken needs more love. Why not a little spoil( seasonings)on the chicken. A little bit of aji panca, aji morado, garlic, sugar, salt, and soy sauce and herbs are not gonna hurt the chicken... I hate to say this, but the Pollo a la Brasa lacks of the Peruvian flavor...it's not like the traditional Peruvian Rottisserie Chicken!
We also tried the Lomo Saltado de Pollo and the empanadas of Lomo and Chicken, but again, the flavors were not there.
Note, if you request rocotto, it's gonna be a charge of $1.50
There were some things that we loved The green sauce was amazing 👏
Flan, I took my hats off! Is to die for!
Before ending this review, there is something worth mentioning, the owner has keen eyes for details and customer service experience!
Based on your response,
Peruvian dishes are so tasty( I know it's difficult for some people to cook Peruvian food, and to give them the special Peruvian touch is even much more challenging 👌). Unfortunately, some of your dishes didn't have any flavor at all. And that is not a matter of nostalgia, That's a matter of lack of flavors! Peruvian food when it's cooked right, it's gonna be so delicious here in the United States, Canada, China, Africa, Phillippines, Japan, Australia, Iceland, etc. Again, it's not a case of nostalgia it's a matter of cooking food with the right ingredients and finally ending up with an incredible Peruvian dish with lots of flavors! But unfortunately some of your dishes don't have any flavor... You should work a little bit more on that.
We loved the Canchitas. They were superb 👌 nice...

Straight to the point. I give this place 3 stars because I spit out a rubber band from my mouth as I was chewing my food. Here’s the story.
I Was walking by looking for a liquor store and stumbled upon this Peruvian restaurant and saw a picture of Lomo saltado which is my favorite dish and since I haven’t had it in a long time and I was starving because I just finished a 46 hour fast I decided to give this place a chance. I get in, I order my food. It was hot, was a good portion, it was really tasty and delicious.
As I’m eating my food I noticed something chewy in my mouth, I thought it was a tendon from the beef, but I spit it out and saw that it was a small yellow rubber band that i was chewing on trying to break down.
I had the waiter next to me since he was at the soda fridge and I showed it to him, but since there were people next to me and the place was crowded I didn’t want to make a scene, also i was on my video call, so I motioned with my hands that it was in my food.
He walked away with it and came back asking if I wanted the dish to be remade. I was starving. The food was actually really good, I told him no thanks as I continued to eat the food and just told him to tell the cooks to be more careful.
I was disgusted. But I was starved & already eating the food, and I don’t like seeing food go to waste. So I tried my hardest to forget about it, but as a first time customer with hopeful expectations this encounter disappointed me.
It was not a good first impression, the staff and the food were great but the rubber band was a downer. I could have swallowed it thinking it was a chewy piece of fat or a tendon. Thankfully I checked.
I’ll give this place a second chance, I’m forgiving, but ppl should know that this happened. I even ordered more food and got the rice with pork in it and found a piece of egg shell in the rice, it wasn’t a big deal to me, but to others it might be.
I should have taken a picture but I had the waiter next to me and was able to show it to...
Read moreWe embarked upon a quest to find exceptional ceviche and we found a wonderful place to eat. We were very impressed with every dish at Claudy's Kitchen.
We started out by ordering the ceviche de pescado and veggie saltado. Ceviche is a vibrant dish of fish marinated in a citric sauce called "leche de tigre". It contains fish, onion, sweet potato, toasted corn, and fresh corn kernels. The restaurants expert preparation of the ceviche made this one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. Try to get a piece of corn, fish, and onion on each forkfull. The veggie saltado is rice, yuca, and vegetables. A great option for the vegetarian crowd. The vegetable were fresh and cooked to perfection. The removal of the seeds from the tomatoes added a nice touch to the dish.
We also ordered ground beef empanadas and veggie empanadas. I enjoyed the fact that they were baked and not fried so they are not greasy at all. The taste of both empanadas was exquisite. We enjoyed them so much we ordered four more empanadas to take home.
For desert, we had a heart-shaped alfajore and the passion fruit flan. The flan comes in a variety of flavors, such as, coconut, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. The tropical flavor was delightful and had a very pleasing texture I have not had in other flan I have tried.
For takeout, we ordered chaufa, a tamale, a whole chicken, and yucca fries. Everything was expertly seasoned and prepared, the portions were the perfect size, I could not find anything that I disliked about the food.
In conclusion, Claudy’s Kitchen is a must visit restaurant. I am sure it will be one of your favorites. I cannot...
