Con Sofrito — Restaurant in New York

Let's start with location It's in the middle of warehouses couldn't even find it at first. It was my nieces birthday. The drinks watered down. The food looked beautiful. Tasted terrible salty And the muscles and clams in the paella were raw and had a horrible aftertaste. Made me terribly sick. when I got home. The service was horrible. They rushed us. Mind you This was a party of twenty at 55 dollars A plate. They wanted us to choose the main course before even bringing out the appetizer. Finally Brought the appetizer, And not even 10 minutes later brought take out boxes and asked to pack it up. Then brought out the main course. While were eating, They began to demand dessert choices, standing there with nasty attitudes They were watching us impatiently. Then came with more take out boxes. They brought the dessert courses and wanted us to clear our plates. Not even 10 minutes later, brought the birthday cake and started singing happy birthday couldn't even get a picture because they were rushing. Served it and removed the dessert courses while we were singing even removed full drinks. I asked for seltzer water and never got it . Servers stood by watching us and making us feel very uncomfortable we got up and tried to take pictures then as we went back to our table they removed the cake took drinks that were full and started wiping the table we were reserved from 5 to 9:00 p.m. it was only 7:45 The bill was about $2,000 my sister tipped them well. Because she is a kind and giving person. My suggestion is not to come to this place. The food was terrible and disgusting and made me sick and others sick the service was just as horrible made us feel terribly uncomfortable. The pitcher of sangria was disgusting and terribly watered down. The drinks were very expensive and also very watered down and weak for the price it was not worth it. Also the place was so dark you couldn't even see yourself eating. As we were walking to our cars their were RATS running around. It was horrifying. Incredibly dissapointing and disgusting. My experience was not the greatest unfortunately. I had an event on Saturday 12/17 for my wife's 50th birthday in the outside area. First, the person that I was told to get in contact with to make the reservation was (Jayleen) who in my opinion was not very helpful at all, infact, she wouldn't pick up the phone for any questions, all conversations were through text😡 I found that to be very unprofessional and hard to to do business. I had 21 guest who were there to help us celebrate, at first everything to seem to be going well until we noticed we had only 1 waitress serving all of us, plus a few other parties that were also being celebrated at the same time. It obviously was too much for this one person to bare. Everything took long to get, drinks, dinner, etc... when it came time for the cake to be brought out, they brought the wrong cake😡 I was totally embarrassed that this happened, I immediately told them and had to go back to the front desk to where my cake was still sitting on the counter from when I first got there when it should've been in the fridge. To make matters worse, the "50" cake topper that was also given to them was missing😡 finally after 15 or so minutes of looking for it, we sang HBD once again.. we didn't get any coffee or anything else that was included in the prefixed menu. The cake slices were cut very thin not even making it a full slice😡 the waitress was nowhere to be found and I never received the remainder of my cake that I brought in. Some of my best childhood memories involve Jimmy's Bronx Cafe on Fordham. Friday night dinners with my family as a child were always the best there. I can clearly remember the ambiance from all of those years ago and its speaks volumes on how they have been able to carry that ambiance into every restaurant the family has opened thorough the years. I had the pleasure of having lunch with my husband at Con Sofrito on Sunday and it was the best experience we've had in a long time. From the minute we entered we were greeted by the hostess Tiny, such a vivacious spirit, she led us to our table and immediately informed us if we needed anything to let her know. She was super attentive throughout our visit and we loved it. Our waitress was amazing super sweet and very attentive she was on point and knew just when to pop up on us and check in. The food was impeccably delicious. I had the ensalada de pulpo while my husband had the churrasco with egg and rice. The french fries ya'll! The french fries are low key the star of the show(hand cut and home made). This was my husbands first time at a Jimmy's family restaurant and he was floored by the experience. It's so good to know that after all these years, throughout every restaurant this family has opened they have been able to maintain the deliciousness of their dishes but also their hospitality and family feel they give to their customers.
