Dear Martha,

One night, about a week ago, I found myself far away from home and deep behind enemy lines in the Pelham Bay Section of the Bronx. I had blindly followed our party leader to the nearby Mamajuana Cafe a few blocks away. After a long, physically, demanding night of mixing it up with the locals, we decided to make our way home, having accomplished the mission in celebratory fashion. Everyone else requested Uber Evac and something like three of them dusted off with most of the party. I made certain that the last damsel boarded the final transport out and then I proceeded to make my way on foot. I had hoped to catch the 04:16 No. 6 Locomotive out of the area.

I could see the trestles when I saw unfortunately I saw the locomotive pull into the station. I knew I was going to miss it and that meant I had to hunker down for at least an hour. Fortunately, I saw the light on at a small establishment on the side of the road, Tremont Diner. I ordered an omelet with jalapenos and silver dollar pancakes with strawberries. The food was quite savory and sweet respectively. The patron and staff treated me well and moved with efficiency. The respite rejuvenated me and I felt ready to continue my journey home. Belly filled, I once again ventured out into the night to catch the next locomotive hoping not to run into any hostiles.

Luck was on my side and I made it back to Brooklyn by sunrise. I write to you to let you know that I am safe and will soon be in your arms. I've told my comrades about Tremont Diner with the hopes that they can find it if ever they find themselves in that territory.

Love, Your...

Good neighborhood diner. The kind you seem to remember going to as a child with your parents on a Sunday for breakfast or when mom/dad needed a break from cooking. The type of comfortable homey place you can sit right down and feel at ease in. Like putting on your favorite sweater or worn jeans that feel just right. Diners that made a neighborhood a place to call home. No surprises here- what your order is exactly what you get and it’ll be just fine. And, that’s the reason we go to our local diners anyway, isn’t it? Comfort food in a comfortable come as you are environment. Friendly staff and good service. The way it should be and the way it would have been had your parents gone there when they were younger and they’re parents before them. What you need on a lazy weekend morning or at the end of a hard worked week. You go here…and you’ll be glad you did. These are the places that make New York neighborhoods. And, most other cities in America. I’ve been here a few times and it’s always a pleasant experience. In keeping with Diner tradition you “get a lot of food for a good honest price with local ambience.” And, sometimes that’s exactly what we need to feel all is right with the world. I’ve usually gone for breakfast. On the weekend. Waitstaff come around four or five times to ask if you need a coffee refill and how everything is. If you’re in the area and your hungry for good filling food in a “ease back into your booth seat and take it all in” environment, then you won’t be dissatisfied or...

Went here today, I used to come all the time. Today was unusual, my friend and I ordered sandwiches, one pastrami, mine was corned beef! We both were all tuned up to eat, but when they came you can see right away how dried out both sandwiches were. So, i dressed my toasted roll with mustard, they tasted a piece of corned beef. Well not only was it OVER BOILED, IT WAS DRY, NO TASTE! It also tasted rancid! My friends pastrami sandwich was worst! His meat too, was dry and tasted sour! Meaning it was going bad, so i sent both back, told the waitress that they didn't taste good, please take it back. She did, however, here comes maybe the owner to "tell me ALL HIS MEATS are of good quality!" I told him, both tasted bad and over cooked and microwaved! He said "yes, maybe over cooked, but not bad". I asked him did g he taste the meat he refused to answer my question. So with that the server came back to ask us if we wanted hamburgers. I was do annoyed by the "owner" coming out to argue with me, i took the hamburgers and left NO TIP. It's not the servers fault, but i know he KNEW the meat was hoping bad and thought we were going to eat it! NOT, this might've been a bad day cause usually there food IS GREAT, THIS DAY NOT!! FYI, be careful when you get a sandwich within seconds of your order!! Taste before eating all!! SORRY TREMONT DINER , BUT YOUR OWNER NEEDS TO KNOW, "CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!" YOU SHOULD BE AIMING TO PLEASE , NOT ARGUE WITH...

Restaurant Review: Tremont Diner Tremont Diner offers a pleasant dining experience that leans on the strength of its generous portion sizes and above-average food quality. For anyone looking for a good meal that offers solid value for the money, this spot is worth considering. During my visit, I faced some initial hiccups with placing my order. There was a bit of back and forth to align what I wanted with their menu offerings, but the staff worked through it, and eventually, I got something close to my original request. Patience was key here, as I did have to wait a bit longer than I anticipated for my meal to arrive. Once the food made it to the table, I was pleasantly surprised. The portions were impressive, ensuring you get your money’s worth, and the flavors exceeded my expectations for a diner. It may not be haute cuisine, but it’s a satisfying meal that hits the spot. In summary, while the ordering process and wait time could use some improvement, the good food and sizable portions make Tremont Diner a solid choice, especially if you have a hearty appetite.

I came here for the first time with my friend. We love to eat and take food very seriously. We LOVED it / the menu here. Not only was the staff very nice , they did not pressure us into ordering , eating or leaving. My friend and I were catching up so we had no rush . We were there for 3 hours and did not feel it. It felt good to be checked up on by staff while still feeling no pressure to hurry up , order , eat and get out. The food was delicious, they served the food in a timely manner . I had french toast , I test it everywhere I go and this one gets a 10. The strawberries on top were fresh , the sausage was a perfect size not too thick but not too thin with no fat dripping at all. The portion was great. It was delicious. My friend's food also looked amazing and she scraped the plate. Eggs with bacon , home fries and toast. I will be going there and slowly trying other things on the menu. The place is also super clean which is a must for me. It is worth coming here for a nice big breakfast .

Sucks to say I will never order from this diner ever again. I ordered from Grubhub and I’m pretty picky with my diners so being that I saw good reviews I figured a burger can’t be cooked wrong..well hopefully not. Pro is that the food came on time but then there were way more cons! First the bacon cheese burger tasted bland and the waffles fries tasted bland as well. The cheeseburger tasted blah and the fries were soggy and I had asked for well done! The vegetables were soggy too! Smallest pickle slice I’ve have ever been served and the coleslaw even tasted off. Definitely wouldn’t wanna go here in person even if it was to try another dish!
