My friend and I stumbled upon this place one night walking around in NYC after walking away from another restaurant HUNGRY, due to a 2.5 hour wait! Hell no I ain't waiting that long to eat!
So we ventured off in the West Village and saw the extraordinary displays of interior decorations through Cowgirl's window. The christmas light decor with the old 1950's style santa and reindeer really caught my attention and reminded me of my grandma's house on Christmas when I was a kid! I was intrigued what it was, and saw it was a restaurant! Being hungry as we were, my friend and I looked at each other and was like, LET'S TRY IT!
To our surprise, we were seated right away, even though the placed looked busy! The menu was great and exactly what we were craving! Fatty, southern, fried food! Oh man, my mouth waters just thinking about the amount of calories we ate that night....if only we could eat like that and still look fit...haha.
Frito Pie - never even heard of this, but apparently it was a texas tradition. I am always down for trying something new and I am so glad we got it! It was actually served in an opened Fritos bag (we hoped it was cleaned before being plated...haha), and topped with beef brisket chili and cheese, sour cream and jalapenos. Yum! Definitely recommend this!
Rattle Snack Bites - which are roasted jalapeňos stuffed w/grilled shrimp and wrapped in bacon served with cowgirl ranch dressing. Omg! Yum! This is another highly recommended dish! Never had such a dish and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Shrimp was cooked amazingly well and the char on each piece added a lot to this dish. I usually don't like ranch, but it paired well!
Chicken Fried Chicken - this really hit the spot! My friend was craving mac and cheese so we subbed the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese. Definitely a must! Crispy outside, tender on the inside and the gravy just paired so well with each bite. Ugh, really wish I could eat this all the time, but I'd die of a heart attack if I did. Super delicious as a guilty pleasure once in awhile. =) Mac and cheese was good too, wish there was more of a crisp/burnt cheese, but it was good.
We also got a Mexican pork soup, I forgot was it was called, but it was very delicious!
My friend and I shared everything and also enjoyed Dr. Pepper floats! It was amazing haha. But overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and the service was excellent! Ambience is quite a mix of stuff, but it worked well together. haha.
I would love to come back here again when I want to get a fix of...

Read moreWhere do I even start?. From the moment that we sat down, we were accused of being late to our reservation. The host I believe his name is David very miserable disgusting man. Told us we needed to be out by 9 o’clock. And this was at 7 PM. Because he made the mistake by booking Another large party of people at 9pm. We didn’t get to order our food until like 815-ish 830. Didn’t get our food until a little after 9 PM. And that’s not even for everybody. It was only for a few people some people didn’t even get their food until like 930.. I ordered the veggie chili entrée, which I thought came with a side salad and a baked potato, but they made me feel stupid For their mistake. I never got my sides, and I was still charged the same amount of money. The only thing that was good about the experience was my frozen mango margarita The table that was sitting behind us was treated 100 times better than me and my friends they were served on time and they even left about 45 minutes before me and my friends. There was an even bigger party of people sitting in the back of room behind us who left before us. They had the audacity to automatically charge an additional 20% tip just because there was five of us Without consent by the way. I almost contemplated, leaving without paying. That man needs to be put down. The way he was speaking to me and my other female friends in the group was disgusting like we were trash. He accused one of my friends of being condescending and having an attitude. when she was being sweet, kind and calm. Meanwhile, he was screaming at her. Because according to him, it’s our fault that the restaurant doesn’t run their business properly. A waste of $45. Also, the vegetable chili was disgusting. That’s a pitiful way to include a vegan option. Especially when there’s so many documented amazing vegan...
