Intimate, charming space in the West Village that supports new innovative works. I’ve been in residence and have been an audience member often at IRT. I appreciate seeing so many lived experiences represented on and off stage. The building is ADA accessible.
The affordable resources IRT provides to artists are essential and rare. It’s heartening to see them surviving and upgrading. They give so much to our community. Truly, what they have they give to artists. I’m excited to see what they do with their new lighting system this year. What a win for the little engine that could. Yes, the black box is tucked away in a rather odd building setting; however, so are hundreds of other theater spaces in NYC. Isn't that what we like about Manhattan?
