We ate there this evening. The waiter was great and the first question he asked was "Do you have any allergies" I had a dairy allergy and made him aware. Turns out many items on the menu have butter on them and the menu doesn't call it out. I think it doesn't fit their narrative to share that they use butter on everything. Even the salad dressing. For example, the grilled shrimp, chicken salad, and rotisserie chicken all have butter. I placed the order and the waiter helped me navigate items that would be dairy free. He clearly understood my request. My rotisserie chicken salad came and after taking a few bites I asked the waiter if it had dairy because it tasted like butter. He said I checked with the chef and it has no dairy "you're good". I ate a few more bites and saw a bunch of oily residue on a leaf and asked again. This time he checked again with the chef who decided to share that the lettuce was dressed with clarified butter which he declared has no lactose. I have an allergy to lactose and casein protein. The chef knowingly dressed my salad in butter despite my request to have a dairy free meal and then lied about it. It blows my mind that he would take my safety into his hands and make that determination without consent. Had they asked if I could have clarified butter I would have said no. Ultimately, I think the whole experience was quite curated but food has to be safe first and the fact that they blatantly ignored my dietary allergy and requests is scary... ...
Read moreDuring my recent 4-day stay in New York, I had the pleasure of experiencing both the RH Guesthouse and RH Rooftop, and I absolutely loved them both. While they share the same menu, the RH Rooftop stands out with its breathtaking views and a choice of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot to dine while soaking in the city's skyline.
I ended up having lunch or dinner at RH Rooftop three times—it was that good! The fact that many restaurants around Meatpacking District don’t open until 5 PM made RH Rooftop an easy choice for lunchtime as well. I even managed to get last-minute reservations through OpenTable, which was a great convenience.
As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious. The salads were fresh, the truffle fries perfectly crispy, and both the steak and salmon were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience in New York. Plus, they have the cutest bag hangers, which is a lovely touch!
Another unique perk? I got to do some interior design shopping while dining there, combining two of my favorite things: good food and beautiful décor. Overall, RH Guesthouse and RH Rooftop exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to...

Everything is designed with extreme precision, and no expense has been spared in outfitting the dwelling with amenities ranging from paneled walls to Corinthian columns to bespoke contemporary furnishings.
