I went to Daddy O's with my cousin and 2 year old niece. The women at the front desk were polite. We only had to wait a short time to be seated. Our waiter, Victor, introduced himself, and we asked for drinks, with a pineapple juice for "the little one", as Victor called her. He brought us three filled glasses, putting one in front "the little one". Who gives a two year old an adult-sized glass of ice filled to the top with juice? No small glasses? No thought of filling it half-way? You have a kids' menu, but no kids' drinks? Confusing. We ordered mac and cheese balls, which has pulled pork inside, and were told they were out. Then we were told that there's pulled pork on the regular mac and cheese and we can order that instead. What we weren't told was that the pulled pork was an extra $6, which made the appetizer $17. It was a very good, hot appetizer, but it would have been nice if we had been told that there was an upcharge instead of being told what we were told. And then we waited for our entrées. And waited. And waited. No one came over to give us an update or see how we were doing. We ordered a Texas burger and a pastrami sandwich. It shouldn't take over 30 minutes - after we finished the appetizer, by the way - to get two sandwiches. We asked Victor for an ETA, and he said "5-10 minutes" then didn't go back to the kitchen and check... When we finally got the meals, they were not hot. The egg on the burger was warm, not hot, the roll on the pastrami sandwich was cold, the meat lukewarm, the fries were barely warm. The two-year-old was fussy at that point after waiting for so long, so we had to pack the food up. The bill came quickly though. When my cousin went to play the bill, the fact that the server hovered over her while she went through the screens, and pointed out where she could put a tip, and then a review screen came up while he watched over her shoulder... very intrusive. There isn't really a BBQ atmosphere. It's just another sports bar with, for some reason, 1950s rock playing. I also find the replies given to negative reviews to be horrible and unprofessional. It's even more embarrassing to me as a woman since there's a sign proudly announcing that this is a "women-owned" establishment. Your rude comments just instigate a negative stereotype that women truly...
Read moreHorrible experience from start to finish! Restaurant was less than 1/2 full. We had to wait 20 min to b seated (party of 3). The hostess was doing her best to manage all the people at the counter. Several staff members passed us not even acknowledging us. Service was terrible. Waiter was not friendly or welcoming and totally distracted to the point that when I was asking him questions about the menu (first time there) he was too busy looking away at other tables. It took 1 hour from the time we walked in the door till we were served food. I ordered the short rib entree because that's my favorite and I always order it when it's on a menu. The short rib was beyond tough. I could not cut it. Waiter came by asked if everything was ok I explained short rib was tough and couldn't cut. He said "well you are using a butter knife". I said that's what I was given and he gave me a steak knife walked away immediately and never returned. Man walking around serving food I asked if he was the manager he said "I try to be". I explained that the short rib was tough and he said its the cut of meat. I literally could not cut it with the steak knife. He looked at me like I was crazy for saying anything. I told him that I order and make short ribs all the time and I've never experienced it being so tough. Also explained how disappointed we were with the whole experience. He said they were short staffed and I was being rude. He eventually offered to remake the dish but at this point I just couldn't wait an extended amount of time for a new dish. I had my little son with me and had to get him home within the next 45min. So the manager just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Really could care less. I emailed the owner this feedback its almost 2 weeks and...
Read moreWhat can i say. I remember when the restaurant was open on Arthur kill road. Food was delicious and service was great. Now, the one in the Charleston shopping center, please save your money and time. Ordered a signature drink on their menu, they said they don't make it. Placed an order for our food, fine. Not ten minutes after receiving our food, we are asked if we want to wrap it up. If you know you are closing soon, perhaps tell the table that just sat down, "excuse me, just want to inform you, we are closing soon, so if you order something large, and appetizers and drinks, you may not have time to finish it all. Also, I can understand the bar closing, but not being able to get another soda while still eating your meal is unacceptable. Closing down your soda machines, seriously, that can wait a bit. At least until your last customers leave the establishment. Please think before giving poor service. I would rather be told I can't be served because it is too late, than having an extremely poor dining experience and treated poorly. The service was terrible and made the dining experience that much worse. Asked the waiter a question regarding items on the menu and he had no idea. At least ask someone for the information instead of saying you don't know. I don't like to bash people in the service industry having come from that industry myself. Especially during these difficult times where it is much easier for someone to stay home and collect unemployment. But I do also believe in the saying that If you are going to do a job, at least do it correctly. Long story short, think twice before eating at...
