The visitors center is reeeeealy beautiful with plenty of skulls, fury skin on the walls, books that you can take for free & the bathroom was very clean.
They also have a room for classes or groups & also Morgan the Ranger was veeeery friendly & nice talking to.
Outside, u have a monument 4 the heroes we lost on 9/11 & it's also right off the highway & there are signs explaining what the place is & how it got its name.
If you come the right time of year & clear sky, then you can see Raptors flying high above.
A big surprise to me was that it's the only Bird observatory in NYC & one of five in New York State.
Beautiful surprise in NYC & a wonderful place to get away from all the crazy noise of the other boroughs. BEAUTIFUL PLACE.
