Being a dry pot fan, had to check this place out. I think this was a recent addition to the neighborhood. It’s, on the most part, self served cafeteria type restaurant where you’re charged by the weight of the items. You start with a large bowl and pick the items you want to be in your hot/dry pot, I believe the hot pot(ma-la-tang) is the one with soup and dry pot is one without. After collecting the different items into bowl, you take it to the counter for weighing. There you choose if it’s to be a hot or dry pot and also select the spicy level. There is also a refrigerator where you can pick any drinks you may want. When the food is prepared, it is brought to your table. For my trip I chose dry pot and ‘medium’ level spiciness. I usually tend to eat spicy in general and the ‘medium’ was just the right amount of spiciness for me. And I also grabbed a can of the popular herbal tea. I always tend to balance my spicy food with something sweet. The food was delicious and clean. Also I noticed majority of their customers being Asian, which I took as a good sign for an Asian food restaurant. I would definitely go back to try the hot pot version.

I've been seeing this place whenever I was in the area and finally had time to go here. Parking can be done via residential or through meter. It's a spacious restaurant. You get your own bowl and tongs and select what ingredients you want. The ingredients range from vegetables such as cabbage, bokchoy, mushrooms, tofu, and etc. For the meat selections, they had shrimp, fish fillet, fish balls, sausages, beef, and more. They also have a variety of noodles. After you are done with choosing your ingredients, they weigh it on a scale and you can choose what you want: Malatang (soup version) or Dry Hot Pot. Then, you will choose your spice level. I ended up choosing medium spicy. I took mine to go and it was still hot and delicious. It was well seasoned and had a good amount of spice. Next time, I'm going to try for the extra spicy level. I'm glad I found a place to get my Dry Hot Pot fix instead of going to the busy Main Street, Flushing area. Tip: If you are not a fan of cilantro, make sure to let them know to take it out as they add it by default.

We usually get our dry pot from New World Mall, but since there was a Chinese New Year parade on Main Street, we decided to try this spot based on the great reviews. When we walked in, the staff seemed busy, but they explained the process—grab a bowl, pick your ingredients from a large fridge (similar to what you’d see at a supermarket for eggs), and then they weigh everything. It was about $15 per pound, and you could choose your spice level. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. It tasted more boiled than stir-fried—the broccoli and other veggies gave it away. The flavors were bland, especially for the price. We were so underwhelmed that we didn’t even bother taking our leftovers home. Definitely not worth the hype.

I wanted to give this place a high rating due to it being very quick and efficient. I tried it out for the first time yesterday and I got 3 bowls for my girlfriend, myself, and my sister. I’m not sure where it went wrong, whether it was with the sanitation process with everything, using the same tongs for numerous types of raw items and the chef re-using the same water for every bowl was just mind blowing to me. Today is the next day and now we all have food poisoning, I had to take off work because it was that crucial and did that much damage to my stomach. I real hope the restaurant fixes this because I am bamboozled since the restaurant has high ratings on google. I wish there was some way to get re-imbursed for this really horrible experience that I'm still...
