This is the second year we have done this. Last year in 2022 we had a good experience and our 5 year old son was soooo excited to come back this year. This year 2023 we went and it was absolutely horrendous. We got there and our igloo zipper was broken. We had our 1 year old with us and she was not a happy camper with the cold. It was too cold to eat the ice cream. My son asked for the "snowballs" when we first got there. The man just said "oh they melted" as my 5 year old proceeds to see everyone in the igloos around us having "snowball" fights. After about 20 mins the zipper couldn't be fixed and we are freezing so I go to say something to the host. She proceeds to tell me that she saw my 1 year old stick her head out and her breaking the zipper would be a problem for them. (How can a barely walking 1 year old break a heaclvy duty zippe?) I laughed and said "Excuse me, are you saying my children broke the zipper?" She replies "Well I saw one of them peek out." I replied "My children did not break the zipper. Please speak with the employee who escorted us to the igloo and he will tell you it was broken upon arrival". She then tells me to just pay the bill and go onto Santa. I explain to her about the snowballs and not being able to eat the ice cream. She finally offers us 15 mins in another igloo where there are snowballs. She then checked with employees I assumed and discounted the bill by about 50 percent which barely makes up for the reservation fee. My son also never recieved his cookie that is supposed to come with the experience either. I have worked in the restaurant business for 14 years and this was the rudest experience I could imagine, especially given the holiday circumstances. This, in no way is worth the money with the terrible service.
Santa was amazing as always and the people who help with the crafts. Santa saved the visit for my son but I hate how awful it started out for him and how he will now remember it.
I write this review in hopes of better costumer service in the future. We love snug and supporting...
Read moreWhile at Snug Harbor, we thought it would be a great idea to go to Egger’s!! I love the one on Forest Ave and have a lot of fond memories there, but was severely disappointed in this location. First, the two employees stood there talking with one another while we tried to order. We stood there for several minutes waiting for them to notice us, which was frustrating. I wanted mini M&M’s, which didn’t have a price, so I asked for confirmation of the price before purchasing. They told me it was $1.54, which is why I bought them. I also bought a 1 scoop Junior cone with the basic, sugar cone, which is $4.75. I know it was an up charge of $1.99 for vegan ice cream, which I got the chocolate flavor (it was good). After I paid, I noticed that the prices on the receipt were different than what was advertised on the menu and what was verbally confirmed to me. I was really upset and, when asked, they simply said that the prices are outdated and will be updated soon to reflect the price on my receipt. My receipt and the menu prices are displayed with my review. If I knew the Junior one scoop cone was over $5, I would not have gotten it. Also, the mini M&M’s were double the amount! They would not refund the M&M’s at least. I felt scammed out of my money, and I didn’t hear her tell me the total price before paying because she mumbled a lot. This is not okay and I’m very upset by this. To make things worse, when I got my cone, the girl gave it to me with the one scoop falling off of the cone. More than half of it fell into my hand and she didn’t say anything at all and left the window. There was no ice cream inside of the cone, either, only ice cream resting on top of the cone. This was genuinely the worst experience I have ever received and I hate leaving negative reviews but this was just really bad. I will not give another dollar to the Egger’s name and that in itself is...
Read moreThey’re hosting the winter wonderland event and my younger brothers and sister wanted to get ice cream in the store, which I expressed to the employee outside. She put us on a waitlist of 30 minutes without explaining what it was for, or the prices. I decided to ask her what the waitlist seating is for and she finally mentioned it’s for the event (explicitly said I just wanted to get ice cream) meanwhile we see people walking in and out of the store ice cream at hand. We decided to just go home. Bad communication on their part and zero consideration. So I guess they don’t sell ice cream while they’re hosting the event or at...
