The good- the sangria is tasty. The space is takeout but you can dine in, there's beer to buy and TV's to watch. Now the rest the food is definitely overpriced, but I was ready to patronize because I live in the neighborhood. I ordered a shrimp burrito 🌯 $15.95. It was on the small size, the shrimps are chopped up so they can get away with giving you 4 shrimp 🍤 in pieces. Anyway here comes the issue the shrimp is coated in a chipotle mayo sauce. I'm allergic to all things mayo. Nowhere on the menu does it say that it's made with chipotle mayo. I wanted to get it changed instead the owner or worker said they were closed. And gave me my money back w/o the tax however. He was very nasty and condensing. When I told him I didn't know it had chipotle mayo, because it's not standard. He said but that how he makes it here snidely. Anyway he doesn't have to worry about me coming back. The previous business was a pizza shop that I frequented atleast 2x a week. Here no thank you. A new business that doesn't respect the customers, let's see how long he last. And he turned the lights off before we could all leave. And there was 15 mins...
Read moreI ordered my dinner from this spot through Uber Eats and walked over to pick it up since it’s just a short distance from my apartment. I went with four different tacos, and when I arrived, the place was completely empty. The staff asked me to wait for a few minutes before handing over my order.
The tacos seemed freshly made, though I wasn’t sure about the tortillas—they were corn-based, but it wasn’t clear if they were house-made or store-bought. The fillings, however, were definitely fresh, and the salsa had a nice brightness to it. Portion-wise, the tacos were quite filling.
I tried four varieties: al pastor, fried pork (a unique option I hadn’t seen elsewhere), shrimp, and carne asada. Each taco carried its own distinct flavor, topped with onion, cilantro, plenty of green salsa, and lime wedges on the side.
Overall, I’d call the experience decent but not exceptional. Having tasted some truly outstanding tacos from many taco trucks ( not to mention my time in Mexico City), I’ll admit I might be a bit picky. These weren’t bad at all—solid, fresh, and enjoyable—but they didn’t quite rise above...
Read moreI guess I got my hopes up too high after seeing all of the five-star reviews. These tacos are mediocre at best. Pros: my order was just being bagged when I went to pick up; each taco includes guac; the crema was free; the tacos are cheap. Cons: the rice and beans are 90% overcooked rice and 10% refried beans (probably from a can); the taco al pastor had no pineapple; the chicken taco tasted like absolutely nothing; the meat in general was overcooked; nothing seemed fresh or exciting. It would have been so cool to have a great new taco spot in Bed-Stuy....
