Just came here for the first time after being in the area and hungry. Note - I'm from uptown BX and have been a connoisseur of jerk for over 30 years. Initially, I tried ordering in advance through DoorDash but even though it said I could pick 2 sides, there was no option to pick anything, so I went in person. Upon entering at 7:30pm, there was no customers and I wondered could this be a bad sign. The heavyset woman behind the bar had the most offending demeanor and treated me as if I was interrupting her sleep. Said woman asked me my order and I recited it to her, however she did not take a note or even type anything on the computer, and I recalled thinking if her memory was excellent. After she appeared to listen to me, she then slowly walked over to the computer and asked me to run it all by her again, and I felt as if I were in slow motion because she again was acting like she just woke up. I was told to come back in 20 minutes, and I remarked the experience of the DoorDash ordering issue, to which she stated it does work, I was the one doing something wrong. So, I opened up the app to show her the same steps I initally followed, and her reply was simply "oh". Now, comes the food: Jerk Chicken, rice & peas(oxtail gravy on top) and cabbage. The chicken was a bit tender however it tasted like they used Walkerswood Jerk seasoning, and an excessive amount to that point. The rice & peas were a darker color than usual and was gummy. The cabbage was good, however I literally received a small cat food can portion. I don't expect excellent customer service from a Jamaican restaurant, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever received. P.S. - The bar looked attractive and I guarantee that is what most people go there for - drink and hear loud distorted music from their subpar sound system. Y'all can most certainly do better and I would NEVER recommend. P.P.S. - Sorry I failed to post a pic of the food, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWife and I went to have dinner, the place seemed to be okay for what it is. We sat down at the bar, ordered our food and the evening went downhill from there. Bartender placed down plastic forks for us to eat with and we were given the bill before we even got our drinks or food. Mind you, we are dinning in and not a takeout. Wife ordered a cocktail and I a coke which was flat. I took a slip of the coke and immediately let the bartender know that the coke was flat and no good, she took it back. She still tried to charge us for the coke saying that I took a slip of it. Waited over 45mins for our food being the only two customers in the restaurant. Wife ordered a Red Snapper meal and Lamb chops for myself. With my lamb chops it comes with 4 and I only received 3. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, I was told that my lamb chops were extra large so that was the reason for the 3. I have ordered lamb chops many time and those were the normal size plus I didn't care how large the chops were, if you said that the meal comes with 4 then I want the 4. I just sent the chops back because I was disappointed with the service. My wife ate her meal but felt sick once we got home. I Would not recommend that you dine-in because my time there was not a good one. I wish i had a negative review for the service, Even the chef came out and looked at us and didn't even attempt to apologize or...
Read moreMy friend and I can from a different state to try this restaurant⦠Called to make sure there were open and serving food. We walked in and there were 3 people already at the bar. 1 man behind the bar. He looked aggravated when we walked in. No greeting, so we asked if we could sit anywhere and he responded yes.
The speaker in the place was so blown, very loud but did not sound good at all.
Again, no words. We sit at the bar for about 5 minutes talking amongst ourselves. 10 minutes go by, no water, no words. His back is towards all of us at the bar.
At this point heās now asking them for their orders and Iām sitting at an angle where I can see that he is pressing nothing on the iPad as they order. Heās scrambling through different screens, looking at the door, at his watch. Walks over to play with the speakers. Doing everything but updating the customers as to what is going on.
At the 15 minute mark we ask the girls next to us how long theyāve been there. They respond an hour, with no water or food, and he stopped them mid order to play with the speakers⦠Another man walked in, and left within 5 minutes.
After this he disappeared to the back and weād waited about 20-25 minutes with no...
