I walked by last week. I looked in. I was amazed. Three people preparing food before the restaurant open. Not one had a mask on. This is a year into the virus. I am not understanding what is not to understand when it comes to food safety. Then get this. The owner made an excuse they just started cooking.. He was one of the people in the kitchen preparing food With no mask.
He apologize. Because I said NO Your in the kitchen you wear a mask over the nose and mouth. He really said to me one of the guys had his mask on. He had a mask on his chin.
I said I will give you one chance to make this right. I walked by another day and no... mask were not over their nose. Shame on this restaurant. Shame on so many restaurants in this neighborhood. Because it does not happen in others. I will drive to help a restaurant get by in hard times because they are keeping me and their staff safe. And I eat out almost every meal.
This was from 10 months ago.
Expensive for the amount of seafood and the sauce that was loaded with water. The water was not drained from the Seafood. I have a culinary degree. There was water at the bottom of my pasta. The manager said he was a chef and never had a complaint. Maybe he should be in the kitchen and not answering phones. Hope the owners understand that you apologize to keep the person. First time. Last time. I would ve embarrassed to serve food this eat as the owner and...
Read moreI’ve been to Fontana’s probably 10 times at this point (delivery, ordering for pickup, in restaurant). Their food is always bland. I’ve had from them linguine carbonara, baked ziti, manicotti, the moneybags pasta and fried ravioli. Everything has lacked seasoning. I keep giving them tries because people claim their food is so good but it really isn’t. It’s like they don’t season their food. The moneybags pasta dish is probably the best thing they have but when I had it, it was TOO salty. Today I decided to buy some baked ziti from them, just to give them one more try, and it tastes like nothing. Ziti with butter would’ve been more flavorful. It’s like they just take canned tomato sauce and throw ricotta into it with mozzarella and that’s it. No garlic, no salt, no herbs. Please do not waste your money! This is my last time eating here. Also, why pay so much for fried calamari from here when Hook and Reel is not to far and they’re calamari is 1000x better.
Edit: People go to Fontana’s because it’s THERE, not because it’s good. The only reason I’ve been there several times is because I’m usually with people that want a local Italian place to sit and eat in. I usually don’t order and let my friends. They always conclude the food is tasteless as well. Mockery to...
Read moreThe food is good but my gripe was about their prices being too much. As of recent their competetors have raised their prices almost equal to theirs. So I gave another try. Yet I can't help but wonder why it is so difficult to give a customer a price total for a food order placed for delivery. Then when You receive a delivery and see Bill total on receipt, there is just a grand total. There is no pricing of items individually to see how they came to the grand total. So why when I didn't receive The 2 Liter Ginger ale soda that I ordered and I call to complain I'm told that the Soda was added to Bill but I was not charged for it?! Now you want me to pay an extra $3.05 for something that I already paid for!! but I guess we won't know that because they're too Damn lazy to list individual items. So instead of treating the customer fairly ....they just get cheated out of a something that they already paid for!!! Well they don't have to worry about getting my money or my business...
