We made a reservation for a two bed room at Days Inn on their website and received a confirmation via email. At some point after that, they canceled our reservation without notifying us in any way. When we arrived for our stay, they told us the reservation had been canceled due to a problem with the charge (we ended up paying with the same card with no issue at the desk) and they no longer had rooms with two beds. They offered to give us two rooms, one bed each, for the price of the one, but told us there would be a 20 dollar additional fee for there being a second adult (specifying number of adults on the website wasn't an option when we made the reservation.) I told the desk they should waive that fee considering the situation and they refused. It was too late to find another place to sleep so we were stuck. It seemed that the guy in front of us in line had experienced a similar problem with his reservation, so one wonders if this issue is common. One of the rooms hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. There were large pieces of food on the floor behind the door. Otherwise the rooms were fine. The noise level from the street and hall was surprisingly high, and yes this is Brooklyn but some soundproofing could have helped. It was as though the windows were wide open. The bedding was about average for a hotel, so nothing to complain about there really. Read moreFirst the pros the location is quiet and nice a lot of stores nearby. Rooms were clean but small and the breakfast was good. Now the cons... my intitial complaint is the parking situation here. There’s a parking lot behind the hotel but for some reason it’s not accessible to guests and I had to drive all around looking for parking which I’ve never had to do at any other hotel I’ve stayed at. I asked to front desk where can I park he said there’s a residential area around the block which would imply I’d have to walk 4 blocks back to my room which is ridiculous to me. I was not even offered some type of incentive for the inconvenience. Another gripe I had was when I was paying for my stay. My card is fairly worn out on front and the employee made me feel like I was trying to scam them on a payment with a fake card. Luckily I had a second card otherwise they seemed like they didn’t want to use my card that they already charged for the stay. I did get my refund back to that card though. My next gripe is the tv. Almost every channel had a “ did not receive payment” message so did not have much choice in tv watching when I stayed up at night. And the remote did not work and was unresponsive. I’ve had better parking and tv at a run down motel then here. Read moreThis place was horrible and I will never use them again this is why airbnb is winning. So I came up a long drive from Georgia with my two smallest children. I was so tired my daughter had booked me a room here and although too pricey for 1 night I was just happy to sleep. Well where do I begin I had a room with a King size bed and bath tub at least that's what it said. Well yes it was a king size bed but no bath tub just a stand up shower, the shower water leaked out the door of the bathroom into the room because there was no drain in the floor to catch the water and there was no barrier to stop the water from exceeding itself onto the floor. The room smelled wierd and was freezing. Now I mentioned I had to small children a 9yr old and a 2yr old I could not bath my 2yr old because no tub and my 9yr old refused to shower because there was a big spider in the bathroom. The bed is hard like rocks and the pillows were terrible as well after a 16hr drive you just want to sleep and comfortable too but that did not happen the floor had a slippery substance on it and the tv sucked as well.
